264 <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />June 15, 1970 7:30 P,M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Rhodes, <br />Invocation led by Reverend Joseph Marini, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Mary W. Henderson, <br />William C. Rhodes, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor Robert H. Bury, and City Clerk <br />Marian McCrindle. Councilmen Dixon Arnett, Paul C. Keckley and Herbert G. <br />Petersen were noted absent. (Councilman Petersen entered the meeting at <br />7:35 p.m.) Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City <br />Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, Police <br />Chief John R. McDonald, Jr., Fire Chief John Keller, Director of Public <br />Works J. Louis Scherer, Planning Director Ken Schroeter, City Auditor - <br />Accountant Jack Ference, and Secretary Frances Ozzanto. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to approve, as mailed, Minutes of Executive Session <br />of June 3, 1970; Minutes of Regular Meeting of June 8, 1970; Minutes of <br />Executive Session of June 8, 1970; Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting <br />of June 10, 1970, and Minutes of Executive Session of June 10, 1970, <br />seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. <br />Mayor Bury announced for the benefit of anyone present in the interest of the <br />matter that one of the items on the agenda would not be considered tonight, <br />but <br />held over until <br />June <br />22, 1970 (Resolution approving <br />plans <br />and specifications <br />and <br />authorizing call <br />for <br />bids, Project W-5, Water Mains, <br />GID <br />2-65), <br />Councilman Rhodes indicated he had been contacted by Mr. William J. Price, <br />one of the original petitioners for Stop Signs at intersections in East Lake <br />Way area, who would be unable to be present tonight. Councilman Rhodes moved <br />to defer consideration of report and recommendation of Traffic Committee <br />regarding petition for Stop Signs in area of East Lake Way until July 6, <br />1970, seconded by Councilman Weymouth, and carried. <br />Mayor Bury indicated request had been received from Mr. Walter Small and <br />Mr. Hugh Green of Downtown Merchants Association concerning the matter of <br />adoption of ordinance introduced at the meeting of June 8, to rezone property <br />in the vicinity of 2nd Avenue and Broadway to "R-5", to defer final action <br />by Council for one week. Councilman Henderson moved to hold over for one <br />week (to June 22) consideration of adoption of Ordinance to rezone property <br />on 2nd Avenue, seconded by Councilman Rhodes. <br />
