309 <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />July 133 1970 7:30 P.M. <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by Councilman Henderson. <br />Invocation led by Reverend Larry Irons, Sequoia United Presbyterian Church, <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Dixon Arnett, Mary <br />W. Henderson, Herbert G. Petersen, William C. Rhodes, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor <br />Robert H. Bury, and City Clerk Marian McCrindle. Councilman Paul C. Keckley <br />was noted absent. Also noted present were City Manager Howard C. Ullrich, <br />City Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, <br />Police Chief John R. McDonald, Jr., Fire Chief John Keller, Deputy Police <br />Chief Joel Mansfield, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer, Chief <br />Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, City Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, <br />Treasurer Harriet Drivon,and Secretary Frances Reggetts, <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to approve, as mailed, Minutes of Regular Meeting of <br />July 6, 1970, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Mayor Bury presented to Eve Kellogg, retiring member of Library Board of <br />Trustees, a Certificate of Distinguished Service, with appropriate expressions <br />of appreciation for her past services, as well as of good wishes in connection <br />with her recent marriage. <br />Juventus Sport Club of Redwood City was represented by George Sundquist, Manager <br />and Coach of the team, who reported on their participation in the Pacific <br />Coast International Junior Soccer Tournament in Vancouver, B.C., June 27 <br />and 28, 1970. The team had easily won the semifinals which qualified them <br />for the championship match for the Governor's Cup in which they made an <br />excellent showing. Mr. Sundquist displayed the trophy won by the team, and <br />distributed to Council copies of an article which appeared in the June 29th <br />edition of "The Province" published in Vancouver. He expressed gratitude and <br />thanks for contributions which made it possible for them to make the trip and <br />take part in the competition. <br />Councilman Henderson suggested that a copy of the news clipping be forwarded to <br />Governor Reagan, and Mayor Bury indicated he would follow through on the <br />suggestion. (Memo 7-14-70) <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0. 6338 AMENDING PARAGRAPH N0, 1 <br />OF RESOLUTION NO. 5035 RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF RATES AND CHARGES FOR <br />THE USE OF FACILITIES AND SERVICES OF THE REDWOOD CITY MARINE HARBOR, seconded <br />by Councilman Petersen. <br />
