1.42
Councilman Henderson expressed concern also in the fact that the one-year extension
previously approved had apparently gone beyond the expiration date.
Mr. Charles Olivia, representing Challenge Developments, in-
formed Council that at the beginning of last year, they did not
anticipate the financing and sales problems that developed
during the year, and although they were building fences at the
time homes were constructed, there were a couple of exceptions.
They then ran out of time, with some houses not being built,
and are now in a position of defaulting on the bond or request-
ing an extension. He gave assurance that they will proceed
with the fencing as soon as soil conditions are such that it
can be done, and the work is expected to be completed by the
middle of summer.
Councilman Rosselli defended the developers, indicating they had done much for the
City. He felt the slowdown in business should be considered and that approving ex-
tension of time should not create any problem. It was established in further dis-
cussion that the extension would carry through to December 31, 1970. Motion carried,
Councilman Henderson voting no.
