<br /> Weymouth , Mayor Robert H . Bury , and City Clerk Helen C . Moore . Also noted
<br /> present were City Manager Howard C . Ullrich , City Attorney David E . Schricker ,
<br /> Assistant City Manager Henry V . Burget , Captain Joel Mansfield , Fire Chief
<br /> J . L . Lodi / Planning Director Ken Schroeter , Director of Public Works J . Louis
<br /> Scherer , Auditor-Accountant Jack Ference , Chief Building Official Charles
<br /> Gyselbrecht , and Senior Stenographer Frances Ozzanto .
<br /> Councilman Henderson moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of December 16 ,
<br /> 1968 , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried .
<br /> Progress Report - Redwood Shores
<br /> City Manager stated this would be a departure from the usual procedure , and
<br /> that representatives of Leslie Properties , Inc . , would offer a review of pro -
<br /> gress to date , as well as a report on the plans for the forthcoming year .
<br /> Mr . James D . Reiter , Project Manager of DMJM, began
<br /> the report stating that , rather than the usual monthly
<br /> summary , this would be a review of what has been accom-
<br /> plished during the past year .
<br /> It was brought out that $ 5 , 300 , 000 in bonds ( Series C )
<br /> were sold ; theRalston Interchange improvements accom-
<br /> plished and now open in to Marine World ; Marine World
<br /> Parkway completed ; established power and telephone in-
<br /> stallations ; developed complete waste treatmentsystem;
<br /> completed dredging of Belmont Channels A and B , Unit
<br /> #1 Subdivision processed through map procedures , and
<br /> first 200 units of housing now under construction ;
<br /> Leslie Properties Information Pavilion completed , 8
<br /> model homes nearly complete ; Urban Design Committee
<br /> active . First neighborhood park approved and now out
<br /> to contract . Fire protection measures authorized ; con-
<br /> tinued site preparation, and filling and dredging of
<br /> 2 million yards of dirt . Weather was favorable for the
<br /> most part , except that in December there were only
<br /> about eight working days .
<br /> Up to the start of last year, between 1964 through 1967 ,
<br /> $4 , 100 , 000 was spent for the District . However , in
<br /> 1968 alone , $4 , 300 , 000 was spent . Progress is being
<br /> made toward consolidated sewage treatment and on the
<br /> water system; also additional dredging and riprapping .
<br /> Studies are under way on water and sewer rates , and
<br /> further information is expected to be forthcoming with-
<br /> in a short time .
<br /> A bar graph depicting accumulative bond sale and debt
<br /> service was presented , along with anticipated revenue
<br /> from water and sewer service fees , expected to be ap-
<br /> plied to debt service .
<br /> Mayor Bury interrupted the presentation at this point to advise that Council -
<br /> man Arhett would be absent from the Council meeting for a brief time
<br /> to attend another meeting in the building , and that he would like to
<br /> introduce Mr . Arnett ' s parents , Mr . & Mrs . George Arnett , on a visit
<br /> from out of State .
<br /> Mr , Coleman Johnson , President of Leslie Properties ,
<br /> Inc . , then proceeded with the second portion of the
<br /> report , and stated that Leslie Properties ' participa -
<br /> tion last year amounted to $ 3 . 5 million .
<br /> Mr . Charles Wynn continued with the report , and ad-
<br /> vised first residents of Redwood Shores would be mov-
<br /> ing in by April , 1969 . Slides were then presented ,
<br /> showing recent progress in residential construction .
