Motion carried <br /> ( MINUTE ORDER #69 - 144 ) <br /> Councilman Rosselli noted the unsightly condition of unimproved portion of Veterans <br /> Boulevard and felt Council should take a positive step for its improvement , besides <br /> unimproved portions of Beech Street and Bay Road off Broadway which are in similar <br /> condition . Mayor Bury advised problem of Veterans Boulevard was one of many now in <br /> discussion stage by Citizens Committee , but agreed that Beech Street and Bay Road <br /> should also be included for investigation of improvement possibilities ( Memo 7/15/69 ) <br /> Councilman Rosselli also noted a number of cities on the peninsula had programs involv - <br /> ing " youth in government " and felt Council should also become involved in such a <br /> program . Mayor Bury advised Councilman Keckley had met with the Secpia High School <br /> District to set plans in motion for consideration of such a program by the City , <br /> probably in cooperation with service groups . <br /> Councilman Rosselli also asked for ways and means being explored to apply for funds <br /> under Housing and Urban Development program for construction of an all purpose build - <br /> ing in Friendly Acres -Fair Oaks Area . <br /> Councilman Henderson noted , because of Councilman Arnett ' s absence as Chairman of the <br /> City-School Liaison Committee , that "Youth in Government " was also a concern of the <br /> school districts , and is being examined by this group and expressed hope all would <br /> work toward such a goal . <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION NO . 6042 COMMEMORATING THE <br /> MEMORY OF T . LOUIS CHESS , former County Supervisors , and by adjourning to an Adjourned <br /> Regular Meeting , July 16 , 1969 , 7 : 30 p . m . , Community Activities Building , for award of <br /> bid , Series " D '� bonds , GID 1 -64 , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll <br /> call vote , Councilmen Arnett and Keckley being noted absent .
