The following appeared in support of this annexation : Mr . Stanley B . Unger , 1325 Edgewood Road , Mr . Sidney DeZordo , 1353 Edgewood Road , and Mr , Michael Thoman , 1369 Edgewood Road . Councilman Petersen moved to close the public hearing , seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried . Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6045 OF THE COUNCTTI OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "EDGEWOOD ROAD ANNEXATION NO , 2 " HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE-HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT ROLL , NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE -HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATELY AND PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AS DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL , seconded by Council- man Arnett and carried on roll call vote . Councilman Henderson moved to introduce ordinance of the City of Redwood City approving the annexation to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designa - ted "Edgewood Road Annexation No . 2 " and herein described , and herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried . Continued PUBLIC HEARING , Abatement of Nuisance , 546 Maple Street , declared open and affidavit of posting filed , Chief Building Official was sworn in by City Clerk and presented verbal report based on official documentation furnished to the City Clerk for the record . He reported the unsanitary and dangerous conditions existing in the dilapidated and occupied building , which had been discovered upon investigation of a complaint to the County Health Department by neighbors in the area . Mrs . Mary Schillaci , owner of the property , appeared to protest the abatement order , stating the conditions cited were something that cannot be controlled ; that the tenants had been under notice of eviction for several months but refused to comply ; that some of the sewer problems had been corrected . She felt abatement pro- ceedings against this property were discriminatory , as other buildings in the neighborhood have not been in- spected . Chief Building Official stated the reason for inspection in this instance was due to complaint received by the Health Department , and that raw sewage was discovered on the ground when inspection was made . This initiated a more thorough inspection of the premises for additional health and safety hazards . Councilman Rosselli noted that a number of such cases have been coming up , and questioned whether a program had not been set up for routine inspections . Chief Building Official responded that because of numerous complaints , Staff time is taken up with following these through . Their Department is in process of adding a part - time inspector so that continuing program of inspection can be initiated . City Attorney inquired if present condition of the property is as set forth in the report . Chief Building Inspector stated that it is , and that while the raw sewage problem was corrected within two hours after inspection , the open sewer line remains in the garage .
