4 1 (1 <br /> ACCEPTANCE OF Spinas Park Tennis Courts approved on motion of Councilman Rosselli , <br /> seconded by Councilman Arnett . Project has been completed to the satisfaction of <br /> Staff and acceptance is recommended . <br /> Responding to question regarding availability of funds for night lighting of tennis <br /> courts , City Manager advised Staff is obtaining cost estimates and will report back <br /> at a later meeting on that aspect , as well as whether the work can be done this <br /> construction year . He noted these court , as well as other in the City , are getting <br /> significant use . Motion carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #69 -148 ) <br /> Legislative Committee Report and recommendations submitted previously to Council and <br /> the following comprises the final formal legislative report for the present session : <br /> ( 1 ) Resolution of the City Council of the City of Long Beach urging support for <br /> introduction of a bill providing that daylight saving time be observed nationally <br /> on a year around basis . Committee recommends no action due to insufficient infor- <br /> mation available . <br /> (2 ) AB 1971 relating to regulation and control of prefabricated housing . Committee <br /> recommends no action , due to insufficient information available . <br /> ( 3 ) Legislation relating to regional governmental matters . Committee recommends <br /> no action . <br /> AB 374 and SB 1414 relating to certain police and fire employee retirement and salary <br /> benefits . AB 374 currently under review by Assembly Governmental Efficiency Committee , <br /> and SB 1414 re -referred to Senate Finance Committee for interim study . <br /> Further meetings of Legislative Committee will be " on call " basis for remainder of <br /> current Legislative session , <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to accept the report , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER #69 -149 ) <br /> Mayor Bury commended the Committee for its fine efforts . <br /> It was noted that Councilmen Arnett and Keckley were not present for the public hear- <br /> ing on July 14 , and the introduction of the next item , so would abstain from voting , <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO , 1130 . 102 ADDING SECTION 60 . 18a , 2 TO <br /> ORDINANCE NO , 1130 , THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE , REZONING THE PROPERTY IN THE <br /> VICINITY OF HAMILTON WAY ANNEXATION NO . 1 , seconded by Councilman Rosselli and <br /> carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Arnett and Keckley abstaining . <br /> DAMAGE CLAIMS : ( 1 ) Mrs . M . Short , on behalf of Brian D . Short , a minor , 204 Park Street , <br /> for personal injuries alleged to have been caused while using City recreation facili - <br /> ties , denied on basis of late filing on motion of Councilman Petersen , seconded by <br /> Councilman Weymouth and carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #69- 150 ) <br /> ( 2 ) Claire M . Shelley , 1143 - 17th Avenue , for personal injuries alleged to have been <br /> caused by fall on faulty City sidewalk , denied on motion of Councilman Petersen , <br /> seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #69-151 ) <br /> ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 73193 to 73349 , inclusive , totaling 8332 , 312 . 74 approved on motion <br /> of Councilman Arnett , seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried . <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> Communication from Representative Paul N . McCloskey <br /> acknowledging resolution regarding wildlife refuge . <br /> Letter signed by Joyce Freeman , Linda Stephens , <br /> Gail Wilson , Shirley Frazier , giving notice of at - <br /> tendance at this meeting to discuss Teen Center in <br /> East Redwood City . <br /> Mayor Bury commented that normally , matters to be discussed by Council are placed <br /> on formal agenda by prior request .
