446 <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO 6089 APPROVING PLANS AND <br /> SPECIFICATIONS FOR TWIN DOLPHIN PARKWAY/SECTION 1 , MARINE WORLD PARKWAY/SECTION <br /> 2 , AND BRIDGE PARKWAY/SECTION 2 FOR REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br /> NO , 1 -64 ; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR , seconded by <br /> Councilman Arnett . <br /> Staff report detailed each section of parkway proposed for construction and further <br /> details explained to Council on planning for Bridge Parkway in particular because <br /> of agreement to provide access to Scavenger property , since dredging of " A" and <br /> relocation of Scavenger road and detouring of their access . <br /> Mayor Bury asked that Staff note comment that Council should be provided with <br /> maps or renderings of proposed roadway additions before being requested to make <br /> any decisions on same . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Henderson <br /> voting no , Councilmen Kec kley and Petersen being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to appoint Francis Ludwig , 3050 Goodwin Avenue , for <br /> Citizens Advisory Committee , to fill vacancy caused by appointment of William <br /> Floyd to the Planning Commission . Mayor Bury stated he had attended last meeting <br /> of the Citizens Committee and of the hope expressed that Mr . Floyd might be able <br /> to continue his membership on the Residential Development Task Force Committee . <br /> Councilman Henderson noted this request had been conveyed to the Planning <br /> Commission and that she concurred with this recommendation and trusted that his <br /> membership could be maintained on this Committee . It was noted that nomination <br /> suggested had been supported by a majority of the Nominating Committee as Council - <br /> man Petersen was out of town and not available . Motion seconded by Councilman <br /> Rosselli and carried ( MINUTE ORDER #69 -177 ) <br /> Mayor Bury commented on success of " Smokey Bear" reading program as witnessed by <br /> himself and Councilman Weymouth in their attendance of the annual award program <br /> where some 571 youngsters were present , and felt City Librarian and his Staff <br /> were to be highly commended for their efforts in this event . <br /> Mayor Bury also reminded Council of the invitation which had been extended by Mrs . <br /> Artie Morgan for groundbreaking ceremonies for new Mt . Zion Church on Sunday , <br /> September 7th , 3 : 00 P . M . <br /> He also asked that Council attend , if possible , the opening ceremony of the new <br /> maternity and childrenst shop at 2320 Broadway at 11 : 30 A . M . tomorrow , September <br /> 4th , <br /> Commissioner Knecht , Chairman , outlined the subjects which had been suggested for <br /> discussion during this joint meeting with Council , and advised that each Commissioner <br /> present would present their views on the following subjects : <br /> Communications -Public Relations and Redwood Shores . <br /> Mrs . Doris Thompson spoke of concerns Commission had in their attempt to plan for <br /> future park areas to meet population growth expected ; lack of property and avail - <br /> ability of money ; difficulty in getting things done without adequate funds for <br /> help , especially in the Park Department .
