242 <br /> Progress Report - CATV . <br /> City Manager introduced Mr , William Sinkunas , Vice President of Peninsula Cable <br /> Television Company , and stated he had been asked to make the progress report <br /> to Council . <br /> Mr . Sinkunas , 1318 Marlin Avenue , Foster City , advised <br /> of the marketing program which had now been mailed to <br /> potential subscribers to this service and of the first <br /> mass installation of sutscribers which had been made to <br /> the cable . He advised hereafter , weather permitting , of <br /> their hope to make 100 to 250 installations per week . <br /> He gave assurance of their being well able to meet the <br /> schedule set forth in the franchise granted their company . <br /> Mr , Sinkunas also explained change in their personnel in <br /> that Mr . Laughton was still a stockholder and Director in <br /> the company , but that he now intended to pursue his other <br /> interests in the CATV field on a full time status . Mr . <br /> Sinkunas then reviewed his own experience and qulifications . <br /> In answer to questions by Council , Mr . Sinkunas explained <br /> 15 miles of line now prepared by the PG&E and PT&T for their <br /> cable lines ; working in area of Finger and Warwick Streets <br /> because of the master antenna locations which had to be used <br /> as feed lines to proceed in certain directions , but that it <br /> was hoped Farm Hill area would be ready for service by March . <br /> He affirmed the rates charged for the service as set out by <br /> the Council in the franchise ( $4 . 75 , plus $ 1 .25 per additional <br /> outlet to a residence - no installation charge ) . <br /> Mayor Bury felt it important that they stress the difference between their <br /> cable service and pay TV , as considerable confusion seemed to exist in this <br /> area . <br /> Mr . Sinkunas advised of their attempts to make this point , <br /> but also advised of Federal rulings relating to restrictions <br /> on number of channels cable operators allowed , but which he <br /> thought would still be referred back to Federal Courts for <br /> further ruling , He explained , however , how this did not <br /> affect their company or service as cable lines were already <br /> installed in Redwood City by their own efforts prior to the <br /> time these rulings came into effect , which released them <br /> from compliance . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 5883 ADOPTING FINAL MAP OF <br /> DOLPHIN SUBDIVISION NO , 1 WITHIN GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 1-64 , REDWOOD <br /> CITY , CALIFORNIA , SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS , seconded by Councilman <br /> Rosselli . <br /> Staff report noted Planning Commission had recommended approval of the Final <br /> Map of this Subdivision , providing certain specific requirements had been <br /> completed prior to the approval by the Council . City Manager advised the <br /> documents required had now been received and the Final Map was recommended <br /> for approval by Council . <br /> In answer to how assurance would be given that Radio Road would be abandoned <br /> within one year after approval of this Map , City Manager advised same method <br /> employed in this subdivision as that required also in Redwood Shores Subdi- <br /> vision No . 1 , and reviewed by CityAttorney , in that previous agreement of <br /> Leslie Properties and Far East Broadcasting Company provides that at such <br /> time as a suitable substitute for access is provided , Far East Broadcasting <br /> Company will grant a quit claim deed to Leslie and thereafter Leslie will <br /> transmit this to City within the one year period required , Coleman Johnson <br /> had confirmed this intent by letter to the City Manager . <br /> Mr .
