457 <br /> Council questioned details of this proposed subdivision planning as to reason <br /> for increasing number of buildable lots , whether park areas had been reviewed <br /> by Park and Recreation Commission , sizes of the two school sites , etc . Plann - <br /> ing Director advised o '/the review and comments made by Park and Recreation <br /> Commission on the park and recreation proposals , number of lots having been <br /> enlarged because school area cut as Belmont School District not willing to <br /> acquire larger area and City would in that event have to be willing to acquire <br /> excess . <br /> Questioning also held as to policy of access for control of parkway and how <br /> determined . City Manager recalled for Council ' s benefit how approval had been <br /> indicated by Council from very outset and how ratified agreements for access <br /> between City and Leslie are on file , which limit and determine where such access <br /> is located and policy agreement comes again to Council_ during procedure for <br /> approval of Final Maps . Indication also by Council as to whether overtones of <br /> economics were not now entering developments in planning and if project not <br /> more sterotyped than what was originally anticipated . <br /> Both City Manager and Planning Director spoke to point of initial planning <br /> for development of Shores by " TAC " which hadn ' t proved out with sloughs taken <br /> into account nor the engineering connected with soil conditions , and also the <br /> need to consider economics when starting to establish this development with single <br /> family dwellings , but of the unique features of the development with its <br /> interior waterway system; the linear park system not found in usual developments , <br /> besides the dike park system, another unique feature . Staff further explained <br /> planning for whole of development for Redwood Shores , detailing reasons for <br /> street patterns to follow slough lines , and acknowledged a better presentation <br /> could have been made of this particular subdivision by more graphic efforts . <br /> Motion to grant exceptions lost on roll call vote , Councilmen Arnett and Wey- <br /> mouth voting yes , Councilmen Henderson , Petersen , Rosselli , and Mayor Bury <br /> voting no , Councilman Keckley being noted absent . <br /> Discussion thereafter pertained to procedure by which this subdivision map could <br /> again be presented for consideration , either through Planning Commission or <br /> Council , and technical problems presented through this action . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6092 AUTHORIZING CONVEYANCE TO <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY INTERESTS PURSUANT TO AGREEMENT , <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson . <br /> Staff report stated the agreement between the State , County and City for participation <br /> in the Woodside Road widening provided for the conveyance by the City of nine <br /> City-owned parcels along right -of -way for this project . Motion carried on roll <br /> call vote , Councilman Keckley being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Rosselli expressed concern for adequacy of pedestrian crosswalks <br /> proposed for Woodside Expressway in view of the traffic situation now and expected <br /> when widening complete , and if it would be possible to meet again with County <br /> &P3 .69 <br />
