485 <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6126 AUTHORIZING ATTORNEY GENERAL OF <br /> THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO INSTITUTE LEGAL PROCEEDINGS FOR DAMAGES AND OTHER <br /> LEGAL RECOVERY RELATING TO CONSPIRACY TO RETARD THE INTRODUCTION OF SMOG CONTROL <br /> DEVICES , seconded by Councilman Arnett . <br /> Staff reported Attorney General had requested the City to consent to the institution <br /> of legal proceedings against certain automobile manufacturers for conspiring to <br /> retard the introduction of smog control devices in the State of California ; that <br /> the Attorney General is authorized by law to institute " class proceedings " wherein <br /> local agencies may join in anti -trust actions where their interests are similar . <br /> This action will authorize the Attorney General to add the City of Redwood City <br /> as a party to any such action as he may institute . <br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson and Petersen being noted <br /> absent . <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6127 FORMALLY ACKNOWLEDGING REDWOOD <br /> CITY FIRE FIGHTERS AS AN EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATION REPRESENTING EMPLOYEES OF THE <br /> CITY OF RE}Z'•IOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman Keckley . <br /> The Fire Fighters Association now request formal recognition as was given the RCEA <br /> and Redwood City Police Officers by similar action of Council at the last meeting . <br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson and Petersen being noted <br /> absent . <br /> Interim authorizations recommend for office of Clerk-Treasurer-Collector . <br /> Councilman Weymouth , as Chairman of Council Committee comprising Councilmen <br /> Arnett , Keckley and himself , appointed to review and make recommendations for <br /> situation which will result when present City Clerk-Treasurer-Collector , Helen C . <br /> Moore , retires on October 31st , reported meetings had been held with Staff and <br /> had resulted in City Attorney being requested to prepare resolutions authorizing <br /> present Deputy City Clerk and Deputy City Treasurer to assume responsibilities of <br /> the City Clerk-Treasurer-Collector during an interim period , until a permanent <br /> solution had been reached . He reported that an Ordinance had been prepared amending <br /> Salary Ordinance , setting salary for each Deputy at $ 1 , 000 ; that these conclusions <br /> had been discussed with both Deputies and both had indicated their willingness <br /> to accept the recommendations being made . <br /> Mayor Bury indicated action recommended is for an interim period , and a continuing <br /> review and study will be made for a permanent solution . <br /> Councilman Arnett moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6128 AUTHORIZING DEPUTY CITY CLERK <br /> TO EXERCISE ALL POWERS, PERFORM ALL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS , AND ASSUME ALL RES- <br /> PONSIBILITIES OF THE OFFICE OF CITY CLERK DURING VACANCY OF SAID OFFICE, seconded <br /> by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Henderson and <br /> Petersen being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6129 AUTHORIZING DEPUTY CITY TREASURER <br /> TO EXERCISE ALL POWERS , PERFORM ALL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS , AND ASSUME ALL RES- <br /> PONSIBILITIES OF THE OFFICE OF CITY TREASURER DURING VACANCY OF SAID OFFICE , <br /> seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen <br /> Henderson and Petersen being noted absent . <br /> ' '06) <br />
