Motion carried on roil call <br /> vote , Councilman Henderson being noted absent . <br /> Proposed hear _n rs on issues concerning GID 1--64 <br /> Councilman Arnett expressed his hope that proposal which had been sub: !_ tted by him <br /> at last meeting for a series of public hearings to be held by the Council on points <br /> raised by the Governmental Agencies relating to seismic standards in Redwood Shores <br /> and which had resulted in termination of issuance of FHA loan insurance might be <br /> considered favorably by Council members after having had an opportunity to review <br /> all ramifications of such a proposal , <br /> Councilman Keckley expressed his agreement with concept of hearings which had <br /> been proposed by Councilman Arnett and expressed appreciation for his preparation <br /> of such a detailed analysis and guidelines . but felt it would he more fruitful <br /> and appropriate at this time to move that Council approve concept of pubic hea.rin- n <br /> proposed , but commenc ink=. after a re -opening of hearings by Government Operations <br /> s <br /> Committee had been requested and accomplished , seconded by Councilman irnett . <br /> Councilman Keckley noted specifically that hearings held by this Government Agency <br /> on seismic matters in Redwood Shores had not included testimony from City ' s ex - <br /> perts , City had not been asked to testify , nor had. City ' s consultants , and felt <br /> City did have a great story to relate if Committee granted a request to re -open <br /> the hearing so such information can be submitted . Committee may find a different <br /> conclusion , indication being strongly evident that hearings conducted by this <br /> Government Agency had resulted in a report felt to be inadequate in that it was <br /> inconclusive and did not include testimony of all interested persons . It was <br /> felt action .requested rT Council?_ woul provide tb -i. s Government Ap'ency an oppor- <br /> tunity to pursue to complet ; on a job of rovernment which was only partially done . <br /> Mot on carried * ( MTNUmE ORnER / 69-2o7 ) <br /> P'' a.yor Bury stated from discussions with Council members , it was apparent that <br /> Council has complete confidence and full faith in Redwood Shores and it was intended <br /> this project be developed as the highest kind of development possible in keeping <br /> with the plans on record . <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved that Mayor Bury prepare such a statement in writing <br /> for distribution , seconded by Councilman Petersen . Motion carried . ( MINUTE ORDER <br /> #69-208 ) <br /> Councilman Rosselli also suggested that since he had noted some residents of <br /> Redwood Shores present at this meeting , that they be given privile ;e of the <br /> floor at the next regular monthly report on Redwood Shores. ( Memo 10/21/6q ) <br /> James R . Hinson , 2459 Neptune Drive , Redwood City ( Redwood <br /> Shores ) , stated he was chairman of. an " ad hoc " Committee <br /> of a Redwood Shores Homeowner ' s group , to which 42 residents <br /> now belong and presented a petition signed by them requesting <br /> City hold a series of public hearings on Redwood Shores <br /> development at earliest possible time , and attendance be <br /> requested of Congressman McCloskey, consultants , and other <br /> interested parties . <br /> He also noted that a communication had been received from <br /> Congressman McCloskey asking to meet with their group and <br /> that a meeting had been scheduled for November 6th , 8 : 00 P .M . <br /> Redwood Shores Sales Pavilion , and invited Council and Staff , <br /> and all concerned , to attend . <br /> � .M <br /> c.: <br />
