247
Communication of Mrs . Fred Hildebrandt , 73 Jeter
Street , protesting discontinuance of the City ' s
bus service to Canada College ( copy submitted to
Council ) .
Councilman Petersen , as Chairman of the Transportation Committee , advised
this communication would be answered , but also asked that he be permitted
to respond for benefit of community . He reported on the meetings which had
been held by the Transportation Committee with representative of the College
in an attempt to continue this service , but advised of the actual statistics
of only two regular passengers per trip , and cost of some $ 6 , 000 which would
result to the City if a contribution not made by the College , as had been done
for this first semester . However , no contribution from the College will be
available hereafter in any amount , or a recommendation might have been made
by the Committee for Council ' s approval of some partial defraying of the
College costs . Councilman Arnett asked that a copy of the reply to the communi -
cation protesting discontinuance of this service be submitted to Council .
( Memo 1/28/69)
Councilman Petersen mentioned that the Farm Hill bus still goes close to the
College and students might be able to get a ride from this area to the College .
City Clerk noted the correction to be made on the biographical data submitted
to Council on James Coffis , nominated for the Park and Recreation Commission by
Councilman Weymouth , in that he is Vice Principal of San Carlos High School in-
stead of Carlmont .
Councilman Rosselli submitted Dennis Woodman as a nominee for the Park and Rec-
reation Commission and suggested that his communication requesting consideration
as a Commissioner for this particular Commission be considered as his biograph-
ical data . It was noted nominations for this Commission close as of this date .
City Clerk also advised there had been no nominations made for the vacancy on
the Board of Building Review , closing date February 3 , 1969 .
Councilman Rosselli indicated he was attempting to contact Jack Weare to see if
he would be willing to be a nominee for this Board ( Memo 1/28/69 ) .
Councilman Arnett questioned recent copy of a communication which had been sent
to Council relating to request of Port to Police and Fire Departments concerning
disaster provisions for the Port area . City Manager advised a Staff meeting had
been planned in response to this request and a copy of the results of this meet -
ing would be furnished to Council . ( Memo 1/28/69 )
Councilman Rosselli moved to adjourn , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried .
Meeting adjourned at 8 : 50 P .M ,
LEN C * MOORE , City Clerk
,w1 27 '69
