He also advised of the overall planning for different price ranges , <br /> both higher and lower for the area . <br /> Mr . Clair also confirmed point that development may later <br /> reach the point for more varied types of development by <br /> market demand but development for senior citizen housing <br /> would necessarily have to come later in the project when <br /> conveniences such as transportation , shopping areas , etc , <br /> were available , but that this first area of residential <br /> development was most typical of theBay Area as a whole . <br /> Councilman Arnett discussed his conclusions after a study of low cost housing <br /> and the gidelines which were set by Federal Housing as to land values , which <br /> he felt would preclude Redwood Shores land at this time for consideration of <br /> this type of development . <br /> Mayor Bury reported on a group in Redwood City now studying this matter for a <br /> low cost housing development in Redwood City and hoping to qualify for a site <br /> acceptance for such a development . <br /> City Manager advised another tour will be scheduled for Council by the first <br /> part of April in order that Council could personally observe accomplishments <br /> both in Redwood Shores and the rest of the City . (Memo 2/4/69 ) <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 5890 GRANTING EXCEPTION TO CER- <br /> TAIN PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, BEING <br /> THE SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY - MARINA PARK NO , 1 , <br /> REDWOOD SHORES ; AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO . 5527, seconded by Councilman <br /> Keckley . <br /> Staff report stated this area comprises 18 lots to be known as Marina Park No . <br /> 1 , fronting on Marine World Parkway , Bridge Parkway, and Twin Dolphin Parkway , <br /> " IR-T" Districts ; that the Planning Commission at their meeting of January 28th <br /> had recommended that the Council approve two exceptions specifically stated , <br /> relating to alleys not being required for the lots to be used for commercial <br /> or industrial properties and certain other lots be allowed to have access only <br /> to nonexclusive easements instead of dedicated and improved rights -of -way as <br /> is required by the Subdivision Ordinance . <br /> Planning Director explained the development anticipated for this area from a <br /> map of the proposed Subdivision , including motel sites , commercial development , <br /> restaurants , service stations , park , neighborhood shopping area , to serve first <br /> residents of the District , and the "Shoretown " shopping center which would have <br /> a more regional drawing interest . He explained in detail the two exceptions <br /> being requested; in the one instance access would be accomplished through the <br /> parking area proposed for " Shoretown " and in the other , explained how access <br /> would be possible by an easement reaching down to the first opening onto an ad- <br /> jacent parkway . <br /> In reply to questions as to how receipt of merchandise and disposal of refuse <br />
