<br /> Redwood City authorizing an amendment to the contract between the Council of
<br /> the City of Redwood City and the Board of Administration of the California
<br /> Public Employees ' Retirement System, seconded by Councilman Keckley .

<br /> contractors . He advised also they were at present under contract with the
<br /> County on a storm drainage job in Menlo Park estimated at some $ 550 , 000 , and
<br /> he recommended them as being an extremely capable firm .
<br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTIIN NO . 5905 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUC-
<br /> TION OF STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS , SOUTHWEST AREA , GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
<br /> 1 -65 , PROJECT SD-27 : REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
<br /> OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT, seconded
<br /> by Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call vote .
<br /> AWARD OF BID, Firestation No . 4 . The three lowest bids received were reported as

<br /> Staff recommended award to low bidder , Commercial Construction Company , even
<br /> though considerably higher than the estimate , as it was felt that it was a real -

<br /> City Manager ' s report to Council advised of the necessity , if bid awarded , of
<br /> transferring $35 , 600 from the appropriation for construction of a restaurant
<br /> building at the Municipal Marina to the Firestation construction appropriation .
<br /> City Manager stated this appropriation will provide for additive Alternate #1 ,
<br /> the difference between a shake roof and a fireproof roof , similar to that on the
<br /> Community Activities Building , and felt to be well worth the extra expenditure .
<br /> He advised the other Alternative for a rear patio area had not been recommended
<br /> because it was felt this could be handled by City forces later .
