Staff report stated agreement provides for an appraisal of City ' s buildings , contents , and equipment , for insurance purposes , fee for this service to be $ 6 , 750 , and that funds are available in the current budget . City Manager stated a recommendation will be made after this appraisal as to how often such an in- ventory should be taken . The following bids were re - ceived : Item I Item II Item III Mausser Electric $ 1148 $ 2341 $ 2881 Coast Electric 1232 2466 2954 Gillard Electric 1324 2703 3084 Staff report stated Mausser Electric bid cannot be accepted due to irregulari- ties in the bid , and recommended award of contract to Coast Electric for Item II covering two rooms in the Library and that sufficient funds were available in the current budget . City Librarian, in reply to question why total lighting not included with this award when higher costs could be predicted at a later date , advised bids had been arranged so fixtures could be added as funds became available , and present bid covered two rooms only . He advised lighting for additional room could be installed for under $ 500 and that he was requesting this funding in the next year ' s budget . City Manager advised the additional funds could be appropriated if Council so desired , as award had been recommended for the two rooms only because of a de - sire to stay within budgeted funds .
