The following bids were received : <br /> U . S . Pipe & Foundry $24 , 948 . 00 incetax <br /> Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe 25 , 649 . 40 " " <br /> Staff recommended award be made to U . S . Motion carried ( MINUTE ORDER #69 -46 ) <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO , 1396 APPROPRIATING $ 4 , 100 FROM UN - <br /> APPROPRIATED BALANCE OF SPECIAL GAS TAX STREET IMPROVEMENT FUND TO PROVIDE FOR <br /> SAFETY LIGHTING FACILITIES ON WOODSIDE ROAD ( STATE HIGHWAY 114 ) , seconded by <br /> Councilman Weymouth and carried on roll call vote . <br /> Mayor Bury questioned wither there are any new criteria as to what is adequate <br /> for safety lighting , inasmuch as he had been questioned on this specific point by <br /> citizens intereated in other areas of the City . City Manager replied he had no <br /> knowledge of any new criteria being set for adequate safety lighting , but commented <br /> on fact Urban Design Committee had recommended a low intensity lighting , which would <br /> be noted as being of considerably less intensity than that which is installed on <br /> Broadway , as one example , but which didn ' t have the ordinary glare but did have <br /> the illumination required for safety . He stated he would check further on this <br /> point ( Memo 3/18/69 ) <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO . 1397 APPROPRIATING $ 250 , 000 FROM UN - <br /> APPROPRIATED BALANCE OF SPECIAL GAS TAX STREET IMPROVEMENT FUND AND $ 5 , 000 FROM <br /> UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF SALES TAX CAPITAL OUTLAY FUND TO PROVIDE FOR MIDDLEFIELT) <br /> ROAD WIDENING, CHESTNUT TO MAIN STREET , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried <br /> on roll call vote , <br /> DAMAGE CLAIM of Perry F . Eason , 1923 Middlefield Road , for property damages alleged to <br /> have been caused by City ' s negligence , denied and referred to insurance carrier on <br /> motion of Councilman Petersen , seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried ( MINUTE <br /> ORDER #69 -47 ) <br /> West Bay Rapid Transit Report . <br /> City Manager stated Staff recommendation had been submitted to Council after a <br /> review of the Master Transit Plan , as had been requested , and announced that a <br /> representative of Mr . John Lilly , General Manager of the West Bay Rapid Transit <br /> Authority , was present to speak on this subject . <br /> Mr . Ronald Fisher , Transportation Engineer with WBRT , reminded <br /> of the engineers ' report and financial reports which had been <br /> submitted previously , containing results of some two and a -half <br /> years ' study by consultants , and of the now preliminary Master <br /> Transit Plan being presented on which the Board hopes to have <br /> "'J:1 17 '69 <br />
