The JPB will avoid affecting any City Improvements to the extent feasible. In the
event a City Improvement requires modification and/or relocation, JPB shall be responsible for
the design and construction of the City Improvement, subject to review and approval by the City.
A comprehensive list of affected City Improvements will be prepared by the JPB, and will be
provided to the City for review. The City agrees to cooperate with the JPB in the JPB’s
preparation of such list to identify all City Improvements affected by the Project. Any
replacement City Improvements will be of a similar kind and capacity to the existing facilities
and compliant with existing City codes and standards. If City desires to increase or upgrade a
City Improvement beyond its existing City codes and standards, it shall be responsible for any
additional costs for that change. Existing City codes and standards shall be applied such that any
replacement of City Improvements shall be of a size, material and specification meeting codes
and standards in effect at the time of City’s review and approval. Specifically, replacement City
Improvements shall be of the minimum size, standard material, and specification as if new,
except where meeting such size, material or other specification is waived by the City. The
Parties will agree to a protocol for the review of plans and the inspection of affected City
Improvements. The City has provided, and JPB has received, the document titled “Redwood
City Preliminary Utility Information Regarding PCEP” (Exhibit D).
B. In order to minimize disruption to the Caltrain passenger service during project
construction as well as maximize protection of people and property, most of the Project work
will be performed outside of the weekday peak commute hours.
C. The JPB will provide the City with plan(s) addressing haul routes along city
streets and roadways, and any staging areas or property owned or controlled by the City for City
review and approval, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. JPB will document
existing conditions by video and photographic record of the proposed and accepted haul routes
6.1.A. - Page 8
