Civic Cultural Commission Page 2 <br /> Minutes of January 3, 2002 <br /> Director Centeno will incorporate the ideas and suggestions presented this <br /> evening and prepare a revised draft for the Commissioners' review at the <br /> February meeting. <br /> ITEM 2 - SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> -Budget <br /> Director Centeno announced the City Council will hold its Budget Priority <br /> Setting Session on Saturday, January 26 from 9:OOam-3:OOpm in the Library <br /> Community Room. <br /> -Children and Schools <br /> No report. <br /> -Cultural Commission Sponsored Events, `Tis the Season <br /> Commissioners Ball announced the `Tis the Season Committee will be holding <br /> a meeting to critique the 2001 event in a few weeks. She noted that the <br /> staff of Washington Mutual in Woodside Plaza have volunteered to help at the <br /> 2002 `Tis the Season Parade. <br /> -Strategic Plan Update <br /> Downtown Planning Committee - This committee will be removed from <br /> the list because the Downtown Area Task Force has made its presentation to <br /> Council. <br /> San Mateo County Arts Council - No report. <br /> -Public Art, Hanging of Ledesma Art Work <br /> Commissioner Britschgi announced that she will be taking the four Ledesma <br /> art pieces for framing. The Commissioners discussed a date for the reception <br /> and hanging of the Ledesma art pieces in the gallery. Thursday, February 21 <br /> from 5:00-7:OOpm was selected as the date for the event. Commissioner <br /> Britschgi will finalize the event plans with Bob Parkhurst of the Sequoia Art <br /> Group. <br /> -Review of Existing Sub-Committee Assignments <br /> Chairperson Dale asked the Commissioners to review the existing assignment <br /> list and to let him know if there were any changes. <br /> ITEM 4 -EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE PAST <br /> 30 DAYS <br /> The Commissioners reported on events they attended the past 30 days: <br /> Ball - attended Peninsula Ballet Theatre performance of`The Nutcracker" at <br /> the Fox Theater with Commissioner Britschgi <br /> Del Carlo - attended Melissa Etheridge performance at the Fox and "Grease" <br /> at San Jose Performing Arts Center <br />
