Civic Cultural Commission Page 2 Minutes of January 3, 2002 Director Centeno will incorporate the ideas and suggestions presented this evening and prepare a revised draft for the Commissioners' review at the February meeting. ITEM 2 - SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS -Budget Director Centeno announced the City Council will hold its Budget Priority Setting Session on Saturday, January 26 from 9:OOam-3:OOpm in the Library Community Room. -Children and Schools No report. -Cultural Commission Sponsored Events, `Tis the Season Commissioners Ball announced the `Tis the Season Committee will be holding a meeting to critique the 2001 event in a few weeks. She noted that the staff of Washington Mutual in Woodside Plaza have volunteered to help at the 2002 `Tis the Season Parade. -Strategic Plan Update Downtown Planning Committee - This committee will be removed from the list because the Downtown Area Task Force has made its presentation to Council. San Mateo County Arts Council - No report. -Public Art, Hanging of Ledesma Art Work Commissioner Britschgi announced that she will be taking the four Ledesma art pieces for framing. The Commissioners discussed a date for the reception and hanging of the Ledesma art pieces in the gallery. Thursday, February 21 from 5:00-7:OOpm was selected as the date for the event. Commissioner Britschgi will finalize the event plans with Bob Parkhurst of the Sequoia Art Group. -Review of Existing Sub-Committee Assignments Chairperson Dale asked the Commissioners to review the existing assignment list and to let him know if there were any changes. ITEM 4 -EVALUATION OF CULTURAL EVENTS HELD OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS The Commissioners reported on events they attended the past 30 days: Ball - attended Peninsula Ballet Theatre performance of`The Nutcracker" at the Fox Theater with Commissioner Britschgi Del Carlo - attended Melissa Etheridge performance at the Fox and "Grease" at San Jose Performing Arts Center
