The committee has developed a very comprehensive
list of questions for the senior questionnaire and the categories include:
Shelter, Medical and Dental, Income, Food and Clothing, Communications,
Transportation and Utilities. The committee will review and organize
the list of questions so Supervisor Kucala can formulate a working draft of
the questionnaire.
It was suggested that workshops be held to assist seniors in filling out
the questionnaire and that the Commissioners need to talk to groups at the
Senior Centers to get people motivated to fill out the questionnaires and
feel comfortable to speak up. Commissioner Sharp volunteered to set up a
table at the Fair Oaks Senior Center to assist in this project.
Chairperson Anthony reviewed the Volunteer Service Credit Bank Program that
was proposed by the Commission on Aging about three years ago. The program
was designed to help seniors maintain services to help them remain in their
own homes. Chairperson Anthony said he will look into the possibility of
networking this program with RSVP and that this program could possibly be
managed from the Senior Centers.
