Chairperson Anthony reviewed copies of several documents which explained the history of the PCC and how paratransit programs are funded. He will keep these copies for future reference. Supervisor Griffith suggested doing a transportation needs assessment survey of the senior population. Superintendent Hartman suggested designating two Commissioners to form a committee to develop the transportation survey. Chairperson Anthony, Commissioners Lloyd and Newell, Supervisor Griffith and Superintendent Hartman will meet to develop the survey and will report back to the Commission at our February meeting. Supervisor Griffith suggested having knowledgeable speakers address the Senior Advisory Council regarding transportation issues. ITEM 6-COMMISSION WORKPLAN FOR 1995 The Commissioners reviewed the list of proposed 1995 workplan items which were listed in the November minutes. The main issues they decided to focus on were transportation and housing. Transportation issues included the driver liability issue (seniors driving seniors). Housing issues included addressing the need for additional senior housing in Redwood City and obtaining information on the new senior housing project in San Carlos. A spokesperson from the City of San Carlos will come to speak at our January or February meeting. Chairperson Anthony wanted to investigate the parcel of land at the corner of Madison Avenue and St. Francis Street as a possible site for senior housing facility. The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at 10:45am to be reconvened at 9:00am at Wednesday, January 11, 1995 to be held at the Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California.
