reorganization. Superintendent Hartman confirmed that a liaison person is <br /> still desired from the Senior Affairs Commission to the Housing and Human <br /> Concerns Committee. The scheduled meeting date for the Committee will be <br /> the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at the Library. It was suggested to <br /> encourage seniors on the Housing and Human Concerns Committee to apply <br /> for the openings on the Senior Affairs Commission. <br /> Commissioner Capone said she was advised that the Housing and Human <br /> Concerns Committee does extensive training for their members and asked if <br /> there could be similar training for the Senior Affairs Commission. She also <br /> expressed her desire to be of help to the Senior Affairs Commission. <br /> Superintendent Hartman announced there will be a training workshop for all <br /> boards and commission members on Saturday, April 22 and more <br /> information will be forthcoming. On the workshop agenda is the topic of <br /> developing workplans for each board/commission. Training Coordinator <br /> George Barbour of the Human Resources Department will be the facilitator <br /> for the workshop. <br /> The schedule of meetings for the Housing and Human Concerns Committee <br /> is as follows: <br /> March 15 from 6:00-8:30pm at Fair Oaks Community Center - Presentations <br /> will be made by applicants. <br /> March 21 from 7:00-9:30pm at Fair Oaks Community Center - Final <br /> recommendations will be made by Committee. <br /> April 4; Planning Commission meeting; recommendations will be heard. <br /> April 8; City Council meeting at 7:30pm; final recommendations will be <br /> presented for final approval by the City Council. <br /> Chairperson Lloyd suggested that the entire Commission attend the March 15 <br /> meeting to hear all the proposals. Superintendent Hartman stated the total <br /> funding available is $200,000.00. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Chairperson Lloyd said he received information regarding the California <br /> Partnership for Long Term Care Program. Commissioner Newell explained <br /> that the program is a long term care insurance policy offered by 4 or 5 <br /> different approved insurance companies and the State of California. The <br /> program offers people the opportunity to make a protected investment and <br /> still receive State medical benefits. Chairperson Lloyd will make some phone <br /> calls to obtain additional information on the program. <br />
