ITEM 5-MEETING TIME <br /> Commissioner Newell suggested changing the established meeting date and <br /> time of the Commission meetings. The Commissioners discussed the matter <br /> and decided to try and meet on the second Thursday each month from 3:00- <br /> 5:00pm. The December meeting will still be held on Wednesday, December 13 <br /> at 9:00am. The January meeting will be held on Thursday, January 11, 1996 at <br /> 3:00pm. The location will remain at the Senior Center Annex until further <br /> notice. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Commissioner Moran announced the grand opening of the Redwood City <br /> Art Center on Friday, November 17 from 7:00-10:OOpm. Entertainment for <br /> the event will be sponsored by the Civic Cultural Commission. <br /> -Secretary Monroe asked the Commissioners to please call her if they were <br /> not going to be able to attend a Commission meeting. Her voice mail is <br /> 780-7252 (24 hours). <br /> -Superintendent Hartman announced the Boards and Commissions Dinner <br /> will be held on December 14 at Hotel Sofitel. Invitations will be coming in <br /> the mail. <br /> -Superintendent Hartman announced the successful Halloween <br /> Dinner/Auction sponsored by the Park and Recreation Commission on <br /> October 26 at the Police Station. Over $14,000 was raised at the event. The <br /> new Red Morton Center construction is proceeding on schedule and the <br /> building will be open in January 1996. <br /> -Library Supervisor Val Hamilton announced the Fair Oaks Library will be <br /> moving into the County building on December 9 and invited all the <br /> Commissioners to participate in the move. Meals will be provided and the <br /> move will be going on all day long. <br /> -Superintendent Hartman announced Supervisor Hamilton will be retiring <br /> from the City on December 15. <br /> -Commissioner Capone said she made a phone call to the Police Department <br /> regarding the "orange sticker" program in mailboxes. She will report back at <br /> the December meeting. She said she will also continue to research health <br /> programs for seniors. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> 11:00am to be reconvened at 9:00am on Wednesday, December 13, 1995 at the <br /> Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California. <br />
