Senior Affairs Commission Page 3 <br /> Minutes of Thursday, September 12, 1996 <br /> Commissioner Anthony will develop an list of items the sub-committee <br /> would like review at the Senior Center to the October meeting. This list will <br /> need to be approved by the Commission before the sub-committee begins <br /> their review. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> -Vice Chairperson Walsh passed out a newspaper article concerning the new <br /> health insurer for A.A.R.P. <br /> -Commissioner Moran attended the dedication of the TEWCI playground and <br /> mentioned it was very beautifully done. <br /> -Commissioner Newell presented Commissioner Capone with flowers since <br /> this was her last Commission meeting. The Commissioners all wished <br /> Commissioner Capone well and thanked her for her contribution to the <br /> Commission. Vice Chairperson Walsh announced a Commission lunch will <br /> be held on September 23 in Commissioner Capone's honor and invited all to <br /> attend. <br /> -Commissioner Capone said she was very satisfied with her work on the <br /> Commission and has made friendships and been educated as well. She <br /> suggested that the Commission look at the following issues: better training <br /> for paratransit drivers of seniors; doors at the new Redwood Medical are too <br /> heavy to open; many seniors medical needs exceed the monetary limits on <br /> their insurance coverage so perhaps the Commission could get insurance <br /> companies to increase their limits. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> 5:00pm to be reconvened at 3:00pm on Thursday, October 10, 1996 at the <br /> Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California. <br />
