SAC will sponsor a forum designed to help Seniors become experts on <br /> Health Care Insurance Consumption (HMO'S) in conjunction with a Fall <br /> Consumer Education Fair. <br /> Sponsor Consumer Education Fair; long-term care, assisted living (Ann <br /> Koben, Colma). Include any planning already going on, no HMO's, not <br /> boring. <br /> 3. SAC will complete a detailed analysis of the Veterans Memorial Senior <br /> Center and Council Operation. <br /> Committee consists of Geary, Jack, Betty, Jim Baxter of FAF, Helen Cocco of <br /> NDGW, FAF and Advisory Council. <br /> 4. SAC will review Sr make recommendations on Senior Programs within <br /> the City. <br /> 5. SAC will monitor National, State and Local legislation to assure positive <br /> economic results for seniors in such areas as Medi-Care, Medi-Cal, Social <br /> Security and private insurance. <br /> 6. SAC will work with Catholic Health Care West/Sequoia Hospital and <br /> Kaiser to establish a long term health care program for senior residents of <br /> the Sequoia Hospital District such as improved in-home support services. <br /> *Denotes Commissioners who will work on that topic area. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> 4:48pm to be reconvened at 3:00pm on Thursday, February 13, 1997 at the <br /> Fair Oaks Senior Center, 2600 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, California. <br />
