SAC will help to sponsor training and education regarding how to identify <br /> situations of elder abuse working with the Police Department. <br /> Will help sponsor training and education re: Elder Abuse with Police <br /> Department. <br /> 3. SAC will review "Carrier Alert" Program for effectiveness and safety and <br /> make recommendations to the City Council. <br /> Will also review Medical Alert bracelets/ID, centers <br /> 4. SAC will canvass public parking lots for lighting effectiveness. <br /> 5. Establish police contact for each senior center. <br /> 6. Invitation to Chief of Police to share information. <br /> ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (*Leo,Geary,Jack) <br /> 1. SAC will monitor impact of suggested rate increases on senior <br /> populations. <br /> TV rate, water, sewer, garbage, PG&E, telephone; get an update for <br /> Commission on status; Why do we pay more than other cities? <br /> 2. SAC will continue to encourage the development of affordable assisted <br /> living housing resources. <br /> 3. SAC will evaluate the status of trailer parks with respect to affordability. <br /> Possible referral to Housing and Human Concerns Committee. <br /> 4. SAC will evaluate the concept of low income senior mobile home parks. <br /> 5. SAC will make itself available to work with the business community on <br /> senior issues. <br /> Seniors receive benefits from businesses; patronize RC businesses; contact <br /> leaders of business community. <br /> ENTREPRENEURIAL/INNOVATION (*Jean, Marie, Leo) <br /> 1. SAC will encourage use of City Rehabilitation Home Loan Program by <br /> Seniors. <br /> Speak to senior clubs; sponsor speaking day <br />
