Senior Affairs Commission Page 2 <br /> Minutes of Thursday,January 8, 1998 <br /> said he has personal experience regarding care provided at Sequoia's CCU <br /> and nursing units. He requested that during the meeting with Sequoia that <br /> the Commission should ask for adequate staff in CCU and that patient <br /> complaint forms should be provided. <br /> ITEM 2 — APPROVAL OF 1997-98 WORKPLAN OBJECTIVES <br /> The Commissioners discussed and made changes to the 97-98 Workplan. <br /> A revised copy of the workplan will be forwarded to the Commissioners in <br /> their monthly packet. <br /> M/S Moran/M.Walsh: To approve the revised 97-98 Workplan. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The following item was taken out of order: <br /> ITEM 4 — FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS <br /> Chairperson Walsh spoke regarding his desire to consider a change in <br /> frequency and/or time of the Commission meetings. Commissioner Anthony <br /> said a change will require more careful preparation for the meetings. <br /> Chairperson Walsh noted that emergency meetings are possible. <br /> Commissioner M. Walsh suggested that the Commission have nine meetings <br /> per year. It was suggested having Commission meetings at Woodside <br /> Terrace and Casa de Redwood once a year. <br /> The Commissioners reached no agreement during their discussion of <br /> changing their meeting time or place. <br /> ITEM 3 — WORKPLAN UPDATES <br /> -Economic Development Lunches <br /> Pam Thornberg is scheduled to speak at the next lunch. The title of her <br /> presentation will be "Intergenerational Program in Redwood City Elementary <br /> Schools". Commissioner Harrison said that luncheon monies will be <br /> collected ahead of time from people attending. Chairperson Walsh suggested <br /> that each Commissioner needs to build on previous successes to reach out to <br /> churches to attend our luncheons. The proposed date for the next lunch will <br /> be March 11 , 1998. <br /> ITEM 5 — SENIOR COMMISSION ORIENTATION TO THE SENIOR CENTER <br /> Manager Linda Griffith suggesting the Commissioners have lunch with AARP <br /> #3137 on February 18 to meet the members and take a tour of the Veterans <br /> Memorial Senior Center facility. The lunch and tour will be from 11 :30am- <br /> 2:00pm. She will organize the event and the Commissioners will introduce <br /> themselves at the lunch. <br /> The regular meeting of the Senior Affairs Commission was adjourned at <br /> 5:10pm to be reconvened at 3:00pm on Thursday, February 12, 1998 at the <br /> Senior Center Annex, 711 Nevada Street, Redwood City, California. <br />
