She reported on the <br /> information Supervisor Hill faxed to her and stated he is still researching the <br /> matter. <br /> ITEM 1 — HUMAN INVESTMENT PROJECT (HIP) PRESENTATION <br /> Laura Fanucchi, Director of Human Investment Project's (HIP) Home Sharing <br /> Program, reported that HIP and Center for the Independence of the Disabled <br /> (CID) received funding to develop an educational and marketing program for <br /> the community. Ms. Fanucchi showed the Commissioners a slide <br /> presentation explaining HIP's and CID's programs. She stated that last year, <br /> over 300 people were interviewed in Redwood City for the HIP program and <br /> 100 people were matched up. Last year, more than 2,000 people were <br /> served by HIP Housing in San Mateo County and 700 matches were <br /> arranged. Ms. Fanucchi announced that HIP Housing in San Mateo County is <br /> the largest program in the nation and she spoke about examples of people <br /> who were matched up in the program. <br /> The following item was taken out of order because Commissioner Grove <br /> needed to leave the meeting: <br /> ITEM 3 — COMMITTEE WORKPLAN UPDATES <br /> Commissioner Grove reported that she met with Manager Griffith and <br /> Director Centeno to develop a questionnaire which would be distributed the <br /> 3rd week of May at our two senior centers. A copy of the draft questionnaire <br /> was provided to the Commissioners for their review. Commissioner Grove <br /> noted that later in the year, a survey would go out to caregivers and another <br /> survey would be sent out in the future which would focus on the types of <br /> programs seniors would like to see offered. Commissioner Carpe stated she <br /> would be happy to ask survey questions while on the telephone as a FISH <br /> volunteer. The Commissioners agreed with the concept of the questionnaire <br /> and advised Commissioner Grove to proceed. <br /> Commissioner Grove left the meeting at 1:55pm. <br /> Discussion of Item 2 resumed: <br /> Manager Griffith suggested presenting the HIP Housing information to senior <br /> clubs at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center and also suggested that Ms. <br /> Fanucchi bring a person who is currently involved in the HIP program to the <br /> presentation. <br /> Commissioner L. Walsh left the meeting at 2:00pm. <br />
