Exhibit "A" Redwood City School District, City of Redwood City Parks and Recreation Department and Hawes School 2016/2017 [. Purpose of Partnership RCSD, PRCS, and HAWES School collaborate to bring meaningful responsive supports and opportunities to the Redwood City Elementary School District students and families. The purpose of this partnership is to increase the coordination of services at Hawes School by adding allocated hours to the After School Coordinator to play the role of Community School Coordinator. To compensate the staff for his added responsibilities, the RCSD added $20,000 to the ASES Base 2016/2017 contract. The Community School goals are as follows: 1 . Children & families' physical and emotional needs are met 2. Students are motivated and engaged in their social, emotional, cognitive and physical development 3. Parents support their children's academic achievement and pro-social development 4. Children are ready to learn and achieve at high standards IL Collaborative Projects A. Family Engagement: Role of After School Director/Community School Coordinator: • Work with the school to create a parent-friendly environment • Work with the school to understand and confirm commitment to authentic parent involvement • Work with the school to develop authentic parent leadership roles • Support parent leaders in connecting with larger community leadership opportunities • Supports and works with parents of kids in school after-school program. Builds a pool of engaged parent leaders that continue to be involved while mentoring emerging parent leaders • Supports family engagement and involvement in the surrounding community • Keep documentation about participation and events using City Span Role of the Principal: • Work with the school to create a parent-friendly environment • Work with the school to understand and confirm commitment to authentic parent involvement • Work with the school to develop authentic parent leadership roles • Lead in organizing and running family related events for the entire school • Lead parent volunteer activities B.
