f <br /> RJC :yc :1/12/59-7 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 927 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE II OF ORDINANCE NO. 639, <br /> BEING THE SIDEWALK AND DRIVEWAY ORDINANCE OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, .BY CHANGING THE PROVISIONS OF <br /> SECTION 5 THEREOF TO PROVIDE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF <br /> DRIVEWAYS TO ESTABLISHED GRADES, OR GRADES APPROVED <br /> BY THE CITY ENGINEER, AND BY ADDING TO SAID ARTICLE <br /> A NEW SECTION, NUMBERED 10.1, TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br /> ISSUANCE OF VARIANCES AND EXCEPTIONS TO THE STRICT <br /> APPLICATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF SAID ARTICLE II <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : <br /> Section 1. Section 5, Article II, of Ordinance No. 639, <br /> entitled "An Ordinance Relating to and Regulating the Construction, <br /> Reconstruction and Repair of Walkways, Driveways, Curbs and Parking <br /> Strips on the Public Streets, Alleys and Ways in the City of <br /> Redwood City, " adopted March 6, 1950, as amended, and presently <br /> in effect, is hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> "SECTION 5. (a) Business and Industrial Driveways : <br /> The provisions of this section shall govern the location and <br /> dimensions of driveways on all real property situate in all <br /> zoning districts other than residential zoning districts. <br /> No driveway shall be of greater width than sixty per cent <br /> (60%) of the actual lot frontage on any one street, nor <br /> more than twenty-nine feet (29 ') in width between tops of <br /> ramps at the ends of driveways, whichever is the lesser. <br /> In case of more than one driveway in front of any property, <br /> total width of driveways shall not exceed the sixty per cent <br /> (60%) of frontage hereinbefore mentioned, and there shall <br /> be twenty-two feet (22') or a multiple thereof of standard <br /> curb, gutter, and sidewalk between such driveways. No <br /> driveway shall be situate closer than fifteen feet (15 ') <br /> from the terminus of the curb return at the nearest inter- <br /> secting street. <br />
