That said petition is signed by owners of not less than <br /> one-fourth of the land in said territory by area, and by assessed <br /> value asshown on the last equalized assessment roll of the County <br /> of San Mateo, California, in which said County such territory is <br /> situated; and <br /> 4. That on February 2, 1959, this Council did adopt its <br /> Resolution No. 2637, entitled "Resolution of the Council of the <br /> City of Redwood City Giving Notice of the Proposed Annexation of <br /> Certain Uninhabited Territory to Said City; Describing Said Ter- <br /> ritory and Designating it by the Name, 'Elks Annexation' ; Making <br /> Certain Findings Respecting Said Proposal; and Giving Notice of <br /> Time and Place Said Council Will Hear Protests Thereto, " wherein <br /> it gave notice of said proposed annexation, described said ter- <br /> ritory and designated it by the above mentioned name, made certain <br /> findings respecting said proposal and gave notice of the time and <br /> place said Council would hear protests thereto; and <br /> 5. That the City Clerk has caused a copy of said Resolution <br /> No. 2637 to be published in the manner and within the time re- <br /> quired by law, and has also caused written notice of such proposed <br /> annexation to be mailed to all persons or bodies to whom such <br /> notice is required by law to be given; all in the manner and time <br /> required by law; and <br /> 6. That this Council did in said Resolution No. 2637 set and <br /> designate March 23, 1959, at the hour of 8 :00 P.M., in the Board <br /> of Supervisor's Chambers, Hall of Justice and Records, Redwood City, <br /> San Mateo County, California, as the day, hour and place when and <br /> where said Council would hear protests against said annexation; and <br /> WHEREAS, this Council duly met and convened at said time and <br /> place for the purpose of hearing and passing upon all protests to <br /> said proposed annexation, and has at the hearing in open public <br /> -2- <br />
