RJC : ek : 8/21/59 - 7 O R D I N A N C E N O . 950 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO . 843 , IMPOSING LOCAL SALES TAX ; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO . 844 , IMPOSING LOCAL USE TAX; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO . 846 , PROVIDING FOR ALLOCATION OF SALES AND USE TAX REVENUES AND REDUCTION OF MAXIMUM GENERAL TAX RATE ; REPEALING ORDINANCE NO . 852 , PROVIDING FOR ELECTION PRIOR TO IMPOSITION OF LOCAL USE AND SALES TAXATION ; AND , REPEALING ORDINANCE NO . 889 , PROVIDING FOR SUSPENSION OF ORDINANCE NO . 846 UNTIL THE IMPOSITION AND COLLECTION OF LOCAL SALES AND USE TAXES . THE COUNCIL OF RED WOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLO US : SECTION 1 . Ordinance No . 843 , entitled " An Ordinance of the City of Redwood City Imposing a License Tax for the Privilege of Selling Tangible Personal Property at Retail , Providing for Permits to Retailers , Providing for the Collection and Paying of such Tax , and Prescribing Penalties for Violations of the Provisions Hereof , " adopted February 25 , 1957 , is hereby repealed . SECTION 2 . Ordinance No . 844 , entitled 'An Ordinance of the City of Redwood City Imposing an Excise Tax on the Storage , Use or Other Consumption of Tangible Personal Property , " adopted February 25 , 1957 , is hereby repealed . SECTION 3 . Ordinance No . 846 , entitled " An Ordinance of the City of Redwood City Providing for the Allocation of Certain Revenues of the City ; Establishing a Maximum Tax Rate for General Municipal P urposes ; and , Providing for Submission of a Measure at the Next General Election Relative to Said Matters , " is hereby repealed . SECTION 4 . Ordinance No . 852 , entitled An Ordinance of the City of Redwood City Providing for an Election on the Question of Whether or Not Local Sales and Use Taxes shall be levied by the City of Redwood City and Suspending the Operation of Ordinance No . 843 ( Local Sales Tux) and Ordinance No . 844 ( Local Use Tax ) , " adopted April 1 , 1957 , is hereby repealed . SECTION 5 . Ordinance No . 889 , entitled " An Ordinance Providing f or the Suspension of Ordinance No . 846 Relative to the Allocation of Certain Revenues of the City , Establishment of Maximum T x Rate , and Submission of a Measure at the Next Municipal Election Regarding S aid Matters , " is hereby repealed .
