private sewerage disposal system shall be constructed and maintained in accordance with the procedure set forth in Sections 8 , 9 , 10 , 11 and 12 of this ordinance . SECTION 8 . It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor- poration to construct , alter , maintain, put into use , or cause to be used any private sewerage disposal system , septic tank or cess- pool within the City of Redwood City without first obtaining a variance from the strict application of Section 2 of this ordinance in accordance with procedure established in Section LI hereof , and without then obtaining from the Building Inspector a written permit to construct , maintain and use such private disposal facilities , and payment of a fee by the applicant for such permit in the amount of Five Dollars ( $5 ) . SECTION 9 . The Building Inspector , before issuing any permit required by the preceding section, shall require a written applica- tion to be made and filed, in which application shall be set forth the following : ( a ) the name and address of the person making sa ch application , (b ) the location and description in detail of the work to be done and the facilities to be used or maintained, and ( c ) any other information deemed necessary by the Building Inspector to determine whether the proposed work or use complies with the pro- visions of this ordinance and other ordinances of the City regulating the construction of sewerage disposal systems on private property . SECTION 10 . Before issuing any permit under this ordinance the Building Inspector may require the applicant to furnish a report prepared by a registered , practicing civil engineer . This report may be required to include such soil tests , percolation tests , geological data and design of a sewerage disposal system, based on such data , which indicates that adequate capacity and percolation or leaching system is provided. s-5-
