On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by <br /> Councilman Christensen , the Treasurer was authorized to buy these Redwood City Municipal <br /> bonds as offered and , to provide the necessary funds for the purchase , to sell $5 , 000 <br /> United States Treasury 3 ' s . <br /> In connection with the Buben matter , Mr. Mansfield , City Attorney , filed a report outlining <br /> the general history of the circumstances and made two recommendations : (1 ) That Mr . <br /> Buben be prosecuted in the Police Court for constructing an additional room upon the <br /> building between the time the City Inspector gave him the original permit to construct <br /> the one room and bath for his mother and the time he made application to the City <br /> Council for a permit , and also for doing or having done the plumbing , gas and electrical <br /> work upon the building without a permit . ( 2 ) That the zoning ordinance be amended , <br /> clearly providing that no second dwelling can be built on the same lot in a first <br /> residential district , and that it also be amended to provide that construction illegally <br /> made can be abated and removed by a proper proceeding in the Superior Court . The Council , <br /> on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Eva, approved the recommendations <br /> made by the City Attorney. <br /> The attorney referred to the Ogden matter and suggested that it would be advisable to pass an <br /> ordinance regulating the construction and use of garages , out buildings and tents within <br /> the city limits . Accordingly such an ordinance was introduced on motion of Councilman <br /> McCarthy , seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br /> Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman McNulty , presented and moved the adoption of <br /> resolution accepting Deed , dated December 4, 1934 , made by August C . and Mary Isabel <br /> Thorn, his wife . Carried. <br /> Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman McNulty , presented and moved the adoption of <br /> resolution accepting Deed , dated December 4 , 1934 , made by the San Mateo County Building <br /> and Loan. Carried. <br /> The City Attorney made a report on the Hudson Street extension and promised more at the next <br /> meeting. <br /> The question of meeting the 1915 Act Bond situation again came up for discussion and V. N . <br /> Lundy , of Davis Skaggs & Company , and J. C . Youngberg , of Stone & Youngberg , talked to <br /> the Council on the subject . It was finally decided to look with favor upon the sugges- <br /> tions of Mr . Youngberg and the City Attorney was instructed to confer with Mr . Youngberg <br /> in drawing up a resolution which would embody the terms under which Mr . Youngberg would <br /> handle the refinancing of these bonds . <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman <br /> Christensen. <br /> Adjournment to Monday , July 22 , at S o ' clock p . m. , on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by <br /> Councilman McNulty. <br /> j3 - E 777 <br /> City Cle7itzx <br /> BEM: MR <br />
