Carried. See Ordinance Book for copy . <br /> Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen , proposed the adoption of Ordinance No . 360 <br /> regulating the construction and use of garages , out buildings and tents in Redwood City. <br /> Carried. See Ordinance Book for copy. <br /> Edwin DeSmith , of 153 Jeter Street , presented to the Council a petition requesting that the name <br /> of Jeter Street be changed , indicating that perhaps "Joaquin_" , "Juanita" or"Jonquil Terrace " <br /> might be suitable . On notion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Eva, the petition <br /> was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> There was read a letter from the League of California Municipalities in which was stressed the <br /> desirability of having as many municipalities as possible join in engaging the services of <br /> some valuation expert to represent the cities at the meeting of the Board of Equalization in <br /> August . The latter requested $50 . 00 as the share Redwood City should pay. There was some <br /> diversity of opinion as to the desirability of paying the money , but on motion of Councilman <br /> McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Jones , it was decided to appropriate this $50 . 00 for the <br /> purpose . Councilmen Christensen and Fletcher voting "No " . <br /> At this time further consideration was had of the 1915 Bond situation , Mr . J . C. Youngberg <br /> addressing the Council . Councilman Eva proposed , seconded by Councilman Christensen , the <br /> adoption of resolution to enter into a contract with Stone & Youngberg to supervise the <br /> preparations for a municipal bond election for the purposeof issuing Municipal bonds and out- <br /> lining certain stipulations governing the relationship of Stone & Youngberg with the City. <br /> Following the passage of the resolution , Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Eva , pro- <br /> posed the adoption of resolution under which the Council would engage a fiscal agent to assemble <br /> and purchase for the account of the City all outstanding special assessment obligations at the <br /> lowest possible price . Carried unanimously. <br /> In order to start the proceedings leading up to a bond election , Councilman Christensen , seconded <br /> by Councilman McCarthy , proposed the adoption of the following resolution declaring that the <br /> public interest and necessity demand the acquisition of a municipal investment bond fund for the <br /> purchase of various securities or evidences of debt , either of the City itself , or districts <br /> therein. <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of Redwood City as follows : <br /> That the public interest and necessity demand the acqui- <br /> sition of the following municipal improvement of said city , to <br /> wit : A municipal investment bond fund to be used for the purchase <br /> of municipal securities or evidences of debt either of said City <br /> of Redwood. City or of boroughs or districts therein; including <br /> municipal bonds of said city , bonds of boroughs or districts there- <br /> in or any bonds or liens arising out of the construction or ac- <br /> quiring of public improvements by local assessment within said <br /> municipality; <br /> That said municipal improvement is necessary and con- <br /> venient to carry out the objects , purposes and powers of said city , <br /> and that the cost of said municipal improvement is and will be too <br /> great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of <br /> said city. <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22d day of July , 1935 , by the <br /> following vote : <br /> Councilmen: L . C. Christensen , J . M. Eva , E. A. <br /> Ayes : Fletcher , R. N . Jones , P.A. McCarthy , <br /> C . G. Lambert <br />
