<br /> WHEREAS , the Director of Public Works and the California Highway
<br /> Commission have requested the City of Redwood City to approve the routing
<br /> hereinbefore described and to agree to resume jurisdiction over said
<br /> streets , or portions thereof , as may not be include& in the State Highway ,
<br /> when the same is laid out , adopted , and constructed, therefore
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED , by the City Council of the City of Redwood City
<br /> acting on behalf of said City , that said City approve , and it does hereby
<br /> approve , the routing of said State Highway;
<br /> That upon the relinquishment of said streets , or any portions
<br /> thereof , to the City of Redwood City in the manner provided by law , said
<br /> City will , and does hereby agree to , resume jurisdiction over said streets ,
<br /> or portions thereof , so relinquished.
<br /> E . B . Hinman , representing the Chamber of Commerce , stated he had a request from the general
<br /> committee for the Floral Fiesta to be held at Bay Meadows , that the City enter a float ,
<br /> and wished to have an expression from the Council as to its attitude . After some dis-
<br /> cussion , the matter was referred to the City Manager .
<br /> Councilman Fletcher asked if it would not be a good idea to put arterial stops all along
<br /> Jefferson Avenue . Councilman Jones supplemented by stating that the same situation
<br /> applied along the Woodside Road. It was decided to refer the matter to the Planning 1'6 1 3d�e0
<br /> Commission to work in conjunction with the City Manager and try to have a report by � ci„ )0‘41 , sofe

<br /> Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Christensen , moved the adoption of a resolution AG; rb� eon` v

<br /> accenting a Deed from Vera and Adanell Gerwin for six parcels of land in connection a ° ,/1-
<br /> with the extension of Hudson Street . Carried.
<br /> The following were laid over until the next meeting: ( a) Tacoma Mill Company Deed.
<br /> (b ) Salary increases as recommended by the City Manager; ( c ) Ordinance changing
<br /> the name of Myrtle and Hawes Street , east of Jefferson Avenue.
<br /> L . A. Procter of Santa Cruz asked permission to hold what he called an old fashioned dance
<br /> every Saturday evening in the Masonic Hall . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded
<br /> by Councilman Christensen , permission was granted.
<br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen , the bill from Stone &
<br /> Youngberg for $130 . 15 , for special services in connection with the refinancing of the
<br /> 1915 Act Bond delinquencies was ordered paid , with Councilman Eva voting "Noy" .
<br /> After filing affidavit of publication , on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by
<br /> Councilman Eva, Ordinance No . 362 , fixing the tax rate and showing the amount of money
<br /> to be raised for the ensuing year , was adopted unanimously.
<br /> Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Jones , proposed the adoption of the following resolu-
<br /> tion which was unanimously carried.
<br /> RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that
<br /> C . L. DIMMITT , City Engineer , be , and he is hereby authorized
<br /> to make and sign all project proposals under the Works Progress
<br /> Administration on behalf of the City of Redwood. City.
<br /> The question of what to do about the delinquent water bills was up for discussion , and it
<br /> was finally decided, on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Eva ,
<br /> that the Water Department officials strictly enforce the rules and regulations of the
<br /> department .
