A City Clerk BEM: MR MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 3 , 1935 g : 00 P . M. Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : Mayor , C . G. Lambert , L . C . Christensen , J . M. Eva , E. A. Fletcher , R. N. Jones , City Clerk , B . E. Myers . Absent : Councilmen P . A. McCarthy and G. W. McNulty. The minutes of the meeting of August 19 , 1935 , were approved on motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Christensen. Mr . I . Isacson petitioned the Council for permission to solicit junk in Redwood City , with the understanding that none of it would be sold , nor would there be an office or yard within the City limits . Permission was granted on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Fletcher. James H. Phillips , Attorney of San Francisco , addressed a communication to the Council enclos- ing a claim for damages in the name of Mrs . M. J. Nichols , which she is alleged to have suffered in an automobile accident at the corner of Brewster Avenue and Arguello Street . The letter was ordered filed. Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva , proposed the adoption of the following reso- lution. Unanimously carried. WHEREAS , under and by virtue of Chapter 642 of the Statutes of 1935 , the Department of Public Works of the State of California is authorized to expend or cause to be expended from the State Highway Fund an amount not less than the net revenue derived from one-quarter cent per gallon tax on motor fuel , on State Highways within cities for the purposes specified in said Chapter , and in the manner provided by law , and WHEREAS , in accordance with the provisions of said. Chapter 642 and in accordance with the provisions of Section 75 and Section 100 of the Streets and Highways Code ( Chapter 29 of the Statutes of 1935 ) , the Depart- ment of Public Works , acting by and through the California Highway Commission , has designated as a State Highway the following described streets in the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, SAN MATFO COUNTY Route 107 . Within Redwood City 2 . 28 miles --- Beginning at the southwesterly city limits of Redwood City on the Woodside--La Honda Road, thence north- erly over Woodside Road about 1 . 3 miles to junction of El Camino Real and Main Street , thence northwesterly over Main Street about 0 . 5 mile to Maple Street intersection , thence northerly over Main Street about 0 . 5 mile to a junction with State Highway Route 6g , a distance of 2 . 28 miles more or less within the corporate limits of Redwood City; which said streets are existing travelable streets in the City of Redwood City , and approximately on the route of the authorized State Highway , and
