After filing affidavit of publication , Ordinance No . 355 , adopting a Pure Milk and General Dairy Law for the City of Bed mood City , was adopted unanimously on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty. ( See rage 184 of Vol . 3 of City Ordinances for full text . ) After filing affidavit of publication , Ordinance No . 356 , changing the name of May Street to Hudson Street , was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman McNulty. ( See page 185 of Vol . 3 of City Ordinances for full text . ) Action on the ordinance establishing license fees for gas appliance installations was again laid over. Joe Wasserman, 160 Maple Street , made personal application for permit or license to operate an auto wrecking establishment at that address on Maple Street , being between Lathrop Street and the Southern Pacific tracks . In accordance with the ordinance governing such applica- tion , he filed with the City Clerk a check for $100 with the understanding that if the permit was granted that the City would keep the $100 and pay for the publication costs in connection with the hearing. In case the permit is not granted , the applicant would be given his money less the cost of publication. Mr. Abner Sholl , 5W4 Market Street , San Francisco , representing the Consolidated Development Company , made application to the City to furnish water service to the White Oaks Subdivi- sion of San Carlos , with the understanding that it would be bought at wholesale and delivered at one meter . In order that the City Manager and the Water Superintendent would have time to investigate , the matter was referred to them for a report at the next meeting, on motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Eva. Mr. Clayton, of the Clayton Nurseries , Inc . , made personal application to the Council for per- mission to build a display room at the front end of his hot house now located on property west of the cemetery , on the Woodside Road. As the situation met with the approval of the Building Inspector , permit was granted on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded. by Councilman McNulty. Councilman Eva , supported by Councilman Fletcher , asked if the Planning Commission could do any- thing toward beautifying the entrance to Redwood City along the Bayshore Highway , and whether or not some general plan for some beautification for the streets of Redwood City could not be had. Councilman Jones recalled that it had been decided to make some adjustments in the assessed value of acreage within Redwood City and thought something should be done about it soon. Following the suggestion , Mayor Lambert appointed a committee with Councilman Christen as Chairman , and Councilman Fletcher to work with the Mayor to collaborate with the City Assessor in working out a valuation for this acreage .
