M. <br /> Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : Mayor , Paul A. McCarthy, L. C. <br /> Christensen , J . M . Eva , E. A. Fletcher , Wm. Hohn , R. N . Jones , G. W. Myers . <br /> - a+[e <br /> The minutes of the meeting of June 1 , 1936 , were approved as , on motion of Councilman <br /> Hohn , seconded by Councilman Fletcher . <br /> In the absence of City Clerk , B. E. Myers , Councilman Eva was chosen Clerk pro tem , on <br /> motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br /> Mrs. A. W. Nelson , of 525 Vera Avenue , addressed the Council concerning the conditions <br /> existing at the Union Cemetery on the Woodside Road , stating that something should <br /> be done toward improving its appearance . Following the discussion , which was par- <br /> ticipated in by several other citizens including Mrs. Hind and Major H. W. Edmonds , <br /> Mayor McCarthy , on motion of Councilman Hohn , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , <br /> appointed the following committee , consisting of three Councilmen and three citizens) <br /> to work un a policy , to be submitted to the Council, for improving the appearance of <br /> the cemetery: Councilmen: G. W. McNulty , E. A. Fletcher , Wm. Hahn , Major H. W. <br /> Edmonds , Mrs. A. W. Nelson and Mrs . Emmett Donnelly. The committee wqs also asked <br /> teCtft <br /> to ascertain if the cemetery could be deeded to the City so it could arrange for its <br /> upkeep , ownership now being held by the Governor of California. <br />
