In accordance with his
statement , he was authorized to spend $445. 00 for the 10 ,000 booklets which would be
sufficient to last for two years.
Councilman Fletcher explained about certain difficulties in connection with the insurance
policies submitted to the City by the taxi-cab operators , and expressed his opinion
that no policies should be taken out with companies other than those which have been
admitted to operate in the State of California. Accordingly , on his motion , seconded
by Councilman McNulty, it was decided to require the carriers of insurance to be those
which comply with the requirements of the State of California and are licensed to
operate in this State.
In this connection , on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Coun-
cilman McNulty , the Mayor was asked and did appoint a committee of three to pass on
all insurance policies required to be furnished to the City by any person , firm or
corporation. The persons so appointed were Councilman E. A. Fletcher , C. G. Lambert
and J. H. D. Peters.
It was decided to meet next Monday , the 24th, and then have no more meetings until Septem-
ber 14 due to several members of the Council attending the convention at Santa Monica.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman
Christensen.
Adjournment to Monday , August 24, at g p . m.
Ec%
City Clerk
BEM; MR
