McCarthy and his recommendation was accepted on motion of Councilman <br /> t''T'? , seconded by Councilman_ Fletcher . <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman McNulty , the Council granted Mike .�- . <br /> Sposito , 1515 Oak Avenue , (place of business at g7g Main Street ) master plumber ' s <br /> license provided he furnish satisfactory bond. <br /> H. E . Franklin , Northern California Division Manager of the Gilmore C*1 Company, in a <br /> letter asked. the Council to deed to the company a certain parcel approximately 10 <br /> feet wide and 50 feet in length adjacent to the intersection of Middlefield Road <br /> and the slough some 190 feet from Main Street along; the lot line of the Offerman <br /> property. The company was represented personally by W. G . Cartwright . After dis- <br /> cussion it re,s decided to comply with the request of the company by issuing a <br /> Quit Claim deed to Otto Offerman from whom the company was purchasing the property. <br /> This , on motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Fletcher . In the same <br /> connection , Mr . Cartwright explained that the tra.nsec+ion was in escrow and that <br /> the company desired some statement from the Council as to whether or not the <br /> company would. be granted permission to erect a service station or similar building <br /> on the property, provided the transaction rent through. Accordingly , it was <br /> decided on motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded b:r Councilman Jones , to give to <br /> the Gilmore Oil Company a letter indicating the rillingness of the Council to grant <br /> permission provided the company lived up to all the requirements of city ordinances <br /> and the Planning Commission. <br /> On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen , Ordinance calling for <br /> Bona Election , establishing voting precincts and listing election officers was <br /> introduced. <br /> Mayor McCarthy and his committee reported about `heir interview with Mr . McCarthy of <br /> the Portland Cement Company concernin:=; the annexation of the area at the plant to <br /> the City of Red:wod City. <br /> Out of respect to George Hopkins , who is seriously ill , the Council instructed the Clerk <br /> to write a letter to Mrs . Hopkins. <br /> The City Attorney submitted a letter from E . C . Stev'art of Stockton concerning demand <br /> for payment of certain bonds and interest threatening mandamus suit in case his <br /> demnrds were not met . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman <br /> McNulty , the Council deci ied to comply with the request of Mr .
