The City Clerk called the attention of the Council to the fact that before the end of March it would be necessary to decide whether or not to continue the contract with the gar- bage company or to take over its equipment . The matter was referred to the City Manager for his recommendation. The City Manager submitted Plans and Specifications for P. W.A. project for accessory con- struction to the wharf and transit shed at the Harbor with an estimated cost of $27 ,000 . Accordingly , Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva, proposed the following resolution to adopt the plans and specifications as submitted by the City Manager . Carried. RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that the Plans and Specifications for furnishing materials and performing acces- sory construction at Wharf and Transit Shed on Redwood Creek at Redwood City , San Mateo County, California, for the City of Redwood City , en- titled "City of Redwood City Specifications for Furnishing Materials. and Performing Accessory Construction at Wharf and Transit Shed on Redwood Creek at Redwood City , San Mateo County , California, Federal Works Pro- ject No . 1445-D , Pablic Works Administration" and "Plans for Accessory Construction at Wharf and Transit Shed, P.W.A. Project No. Calif. 1445-D" submitted by the City Engineer to the Council of said city on the 15th day of February, 1937 , be and the same are hereby adopted as and for the Plans and Specifications for doing said work. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized to publish notice inviting bids for said work according to said. Plans and Specifications and according to the notice to contrac- tors set forth therein. Said bids to be delivered on or before 3: 00 o ' clock p. m. of March 1 , 1937 , at the office of the City Manager in the City Hall at Redwood City , California, when said bids will be opened and the figures therein computed , and then be referred to the City Council at g : 00 o ' clock p. m. on March 1 , 1937 , for action and acceptance thereof. Said bids shall be advertised by the Clerk of the City of Redwood City for the length of time , in the Redwood City Tribune , the .official newspaper of said city, as required by law and the Charter of said city.
