The hourly wage rate prescribed hereinabove <br /> is the per diem rate divided by the aforementioned number of hours constituting a <br /> working day. <br /> The City Manager submitted the following letter : <br /> February 13 , 1937 <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> Redwood City , California <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> In preparing the plans for the Harbor , the major item of the <br /> accessory construction has been the water supply line from the Redwood <br /> City corporate limits to the transit shed , a length of 9 , 720 feet . <br /> In the further study of the future requirements since the <br /> original preliminary estimate , it seemed advisable to increase the. size <br /> of the main from the 6-inch estimated .to the g inch pipe , and on account <br /> of a re-arrangement of the entrance roadway an added length was required. <br /> As the Redwood City Water Department will assume control and <br /> operation of this pipe line when built , it seems proper that funds should <br /> be appropriated from that department to pay at least the equivalent of <br /> the cost of a service main to supply prospective water users. Accordingly, <br /> I recommend that the sum of $8 ,000 be transferred from the Water Depart- <br /> ment , charged as capital investment , to the Harbor fund. <br /> Respectfully submitted , <br /> C.
