317 <br /> Further discussion ensued concerning the letter from Stone and Youngberg in which <br /> request was made that the City contribute something over $U00 as a portion <br /> of the expenses incurred by that firm in preparing and advocating legislation. <br /> It was finally decided that the Clerk be instructed to write to Stone and <br /> Youngberg that after a thorough discussion no one moved to make the payment <br /> of the amount requested. <br /> The matter of the bus line was laid over until another meeting . <br /> The City Clerk was directed , on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman <br /> McNulty , to write a letter to the Sequoia Union High School to express apprec- <br /> iation of the Council for the new fence and sidewalk placed by that school <br /> and also to the Grammar School for its willingness to construct sidewalks <br /> around the property at the McKinley School . <br /> On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Jones , there was introduced <br /> an ordinance naming certain streets. <br /> The City Manager was asked to get in touch with the Southern Pacific officials con- <br /> cerning the condition of several crossings in the City . <br /> On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Hohn, Councilman Fletcher <br /> was given permission to leave the state . <br /> On motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman McNulty , the City Manager was <br /> asked to get from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company information as to <br /> additions to its electrical system since February 1935 together with withdrawals <br /> made within the same period. <br /> Discussion was had concerning the boarding home ( school ? ) for children at the corner <br /> of Jeter and Hopkins . It was suggested that the City Attorney ascertain the <br /> kind of permit under which the institution was operating and that the Building <br /> Inspector ask the persons in charge to try to keep the children more quiet . <br /> Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed the adoption of <br /> resolution ordering plans , profiles , detailed drawings , specifications and map <br /> or plat of proposed Assessment District No . 1937-3 . Carried. <br /> Following this , the City Engineer presented Plans , specifications , and map of proposed <br /> Assessement District to be benefited. <br /> Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman McNulty , proposed the adoption of resolution <br /> adopting plans , profiles , specifications , and map or plat of proposed Assess- <br /> ment District No . 1937-3 .
