'Walter has Paid to the City of Redwood City the sum of eight hundred and twenty-five dollars ( $825 . 00) and has asked me to accept it as payment for delinquent taxes on his property . " On motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Hohn , the Council instructed the Tax Collector not to waive any part of the taxes or penalties and to inform Mr. Walter that his $825 payment would be applied against the total amount as he might indicate . Miss Louise G . Schmidt , for several property owners on Valota Road , addressed the Council further about the payment of that cross street , explaining the difficulty of using this street in the winter time due to the lack of proper surfacing. On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Christensen , the matter was referred to the City Manager with instructions to try to get a right of way through Lot 45 of the re- subdivision and to arrange , if possible , with the Highway Commission to have Valota Road established as a major street in Redwood City. On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Jones , authority was given to Perry Bygdnes , Roscoe Wyatt , and Frank DePatta to arrange a suitable float for the Harbor Opening Festival at a cost not to exceed $100 , the amount so spent to be taken from the Publicity Fund. On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Jones , the Chamber of Commerce was instructed to place a page ad to cost $80 in the Tribune tabloid for the county fiesta and also a page ad to cost not more than $90 in the special number for the Harbor Opening Festival with the understanding that the cost be taken from the Publicity Fund. After filing affidavit of publication , on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty , Ordinance No . 397 was formally adopted . After filing affidavit of publication, on motion of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Hohn , Tax Ordinance No . 398 establishing the amount of money to be raised by taxes for the fiscal year 1937-3g was adopted.
