315 <br /> MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> AUGUST 16 , 1937 <br /> g: 00 P . M. <br /> Upon roll call , the following Councilman were present : Mayor Paul A. McCarthy , Council- <br /> .— men L . C . Christensen , E . A. Fletcher , R. N . Jones , Wm. Hohn, and G. W. McNulty , <br /> and City Clerk B . E. Myers . Absent : Councilman J. M . Eva. <br /> The minutes of the regular meeting of August 2 and special meeting of August 9 were <br /> approved on motion of Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman McNulty . <br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Jones , the American Legion <br /> was given permission to continue a special dance on the night of September 11 <br /> until 2 : 00 A. M. <br /> Two letters were received and read from the Italian American Progressive Club , in one <br /> of which attention was called to an old barn on Cedar Street near Stambaugh <br /> which is unsightly , and it was recommended that it be taken down; and in the <br /> other letter request was made that , if possible , all flagmen along the Southern <br /> Pacific crossings be retained in addition to the installation of automatic <br /> signals . <br /> In connection with the barn at Cedar near Stambaugh, on motion of Councilman Fletcher , <br /> seconded by Councilman Hohn , the Building Inspector was instructed to ask the <br /> owner of the barn to have it removed at once. <br /> The City Clerk was authorized to write a letter to the Italian American Progressive <br /> Club to express the appreciation of the Council for its interest in civic <br /> affairs , and to explain that the policy affecting the crossing control had <br /> been settled in accordance with an agreement with the Southern Pacific officials <br /> and the Railroad Commission. <br /> The following letter from Mrs . Miramontes , City Tax Collector , was read : <br /> "0n July 21 , 1937 , I was authorized by Mr . J. M . Eva <br /> to accept $1042 . 63 on the following property instead of <br /> $1170 . 93 as was actually due if the amount was paid in full . <br /> Lot 20-Block 7 New High School Acres (Arb . 143 . 25 ) <br /> Delinquent Tax $96 . 58 <br /> Delinquent Weed 12 . 84 <br /> Delinquent J10 737 . 84 <br /> Delinquent M12 9 . 41 <br /> Tan Penalties 36. 63 <br /> Bond Penalties 201 . 67 <br /> Not yet due Bond Assessment M12 4. 70 <br /> Not yet due Bond Assessment J10 71 . 26 <br /> Total 1170 . 93 <br /> "0n August 3 , 1937 , a check was received in the amount <br /> of $1042 . 63 .
