333 <br /> Floyd Granger , representing the American Legion , asked permission to hold an <br /> Armistice Ball on the evening of November 6 , and permission was granted , <br /> on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Eva, <br /> Mr. Granger also asked if anything could be done to have the merchants of <br /> Redwood City observe Armistice Day by closing their places of business . <br /> The Council expressed its approval and asked the Clerk to write to the <br /> Chamber of Commerce , in an effort to have the members of the Chamber close <br /> their places of business on Armistice Day, this on motion of Councilman <br /> Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Ev9 . <br /> The departmental reports were ordered filed. <br /> The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded <br /> by Councilman Fletcher. <br /> Adjournment . <br /> r � I <br /> City C ler . <br /> MINUTES OF R 1iGU L A_R I:EET DIG <br /> RED: OOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> OCTOBER 18 , 1937 <br /> 8 : 00 P. McCarthy, and City Clerk B. E. Myers . <br /> The minutes of the meeting of October 4 , were approved as corrected on motion <br /> of Councilman Christensen , seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br /> The City Manager submitted a letter advising the Council of having appointed a <br /> citizens committee to work with him in the consideration of plans for <br /> future development of recre -tional facilities and activities and assistance <br /> in arousing public interest and support for such activities . The canmittee <br /> consisted of the following : James P. Hagan , Mildred loenck, Mrs . L. T. <br /> McAtee , ':!ayen R . Millington , and K . Van Gundy. Upon motion of Council- <br /> man Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Eva , the Council approved the action <br /> of the City Manager . <br /> In a letter from Hugh E. McCleary, the Greater South P edw- od Improvement Club <br /> asked the Council to remove the ferce along Union Cemetery on the tioodside <br /> Road , as it was in bad condition and there was a fine hedge behind it . <br /> The letter was referred to the City Manager for his attention . <br />
