335 functioning of the band . Included were the following items , among others : Bass Drum, Bass Horn, ar. d uniforms for about thirty-five members . The total requirements to cost about $1100. It was explained by one of the members of the band who was with Mr. Otis , that one or two dances were to be gi '-er toward raising a fund to apply on the ex- penses . Mr. Otis was assured that if the band members showed continued interest and enthusiasm by making a financial success of these dances , that the Courcil would most likely be :F illin ; to underwrite the neccessary expense for uniforms and equipment. Councilman McNulty , for the Committee or Employee Insurance , made report , and from the discussion the following were decided ; 1. . Any employee incapacitated while on duty is to receive full wages for a period of two months from the date of the injury provided the employee cores within the operation of the State Compensation Insurance Fund and turns back to the City all checks received from the fund. 2 . Employees incapacitated while off duty are to receive full wages for the time they are unable to work, up to two work-weeks , but only two work-weeks in any one fiscal year . 3 . Employees who take the insurance proposed by the City mnd are • incapacitated while off duty will receive not oily the two weeks benefit but in addition will receive insurance payments after the third dy up to thirteen weeks . 1Then voting on part two of the plan proposed above , Councilman Eva , Jones and McNulty voted "No" as they were not in full agreement with principle established. On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Jones , it was de- cided to recommend the proposal of the '_etna Insurance Company for group insurance to the employee of the City for their consideration and acceptance . Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed the adoption of resolutions accepting eight deeds executed by the Moxey Realty Company covering a group of lots to be taken over by the City. Carried. Councilman Fletcher was 9.sked to make a report at the next meeting concern- ing the Committee on Termite Control . The Clerk was asked to bring up at the next meeting the question of a Grey- hound bus line at the Southern Pacific Station . The City Mianager submitted , in connection with the Montgomery Street pav- ing job two bids , as follows : H. L. Sanders $942 . W. 0. Tyson $ 1082 . 24 : but he explained that both bids were irregular due to the fact that Mr . Sanders had torn off the specifications on which he was bidding, and Mr . Tyson did not sign the bid. As this job requires the expenditure of money other than that of the City, it was argued that an award of contract be made to Mr . Sanders , as the low bidder , but tr, e City Manager explained that the contract
