MINUTES OF IMULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL DEC=ER 5 , 1938 8 : 00 P. M. Upon roll call the following were present : Councilmen H. F. Anderson , E. A . Fletcher , Wm. Hahn , R. N. Jones , P . A. McCarthy, G. W . McNulty , Mayor L . C . Christensen , and City Clerk B . E. Myers. The Minutes of the meeting of November 21 were approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty. A. R. Boyer , representing the Exchange Club , explained to the Council the Safety Campai>m which is being sponsored by that organization and asked the cooperation and support of the City Council . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson , Mr . Boyer was assurred that the members of the Council were in full sympathy with the principle back of their plan and approved the idea as advocated. The Clerk read p letter from County Clerk Augustus indicating that there had been filed a judgment against the City of Redwood City in the sum of $2 , 368. 75 plus certain costs . In the sn :ne connection , there was presented Writ of Attachment of R. Osborn requesting the City withhold any payment to the defendants in the sum of $1 , 346 . 63. On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Pletcher , the City Attorney was authorized to file notice of appeal unless by consultation with Attorneys Menifee and Kington , some satisfactory adjustment of the judgment were made. There was read a letter from the Fraternal Order of Eagles asking that the City Council approve the finger printing campaign sponsored by this organization. This was done on motion of Councilman ']. etcher , seconded by Councilman McCarthy. In a letter t ', the Council , Frank Griffin , Director of Physical Education of Sequoia Union High School , requested permission to erect a bill board on the school grounds fronting the highway . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson , the matter was referred to the Mayor and the City Manager to act as a committee with Mr . Griffin and Mr. Argo to find a suitable location for such a sign. C . A. Bonner , Manager of the Aetna Insurance Company , called attention to the possible hazards in connection with the money in the possession of the City Collector and the City Treasurer and suggested certain insurance coverages . It was decided, on motion of Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman McCarthy , to leave the matter in the hands of the City Manager and City Treasurer to work oat whatever insurance was considered advisable . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Hohn , the City Treasurer was authorized to pay $10 to the San Mateo County Tuberculosis and Health Association.
