MINUTES OF IMULAR MEETING <br /> REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br /> DEC=ER 5 , 1938 <br /> 8 : 00 P. M. <br /> Upon roll call the following were present : Councilmen H. F. Anderson , E. A . Fletcher , <br /> Wm. Hahn , R. N. Jones , P . A. McCarthy, G. W . McNulty , Mayor L . C . Christensen , <br /> and City Clerk B . E. Myers. <br /> The Minutes of the meeting of November 21 were approved on motion of Councilman <br /> Fletcher , seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br /> A. R. Boyer , representing the Exchange Club , explained to the Council the Safety <br /> Campai>m which is being sponsored by that organization and asked the cooperation <br /> and support of the City Council . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded <br /> by Councilman Anderson , Mr . Boyer was assurred that the members of the Council <br /> were in full sympathy with the principle back of their plan and approved the <br /> idea as advocated. <br /> The Clerk read p letter from County Clerk Augustus indicating that there had been <br /> filed a judgment against the City of Redwood City in the sum of $2 , 368. 75 <br /> plus certain costs . In the sn :ne connection , there was presented Writ of <br /> Attachment of R. Osborn requesting the City withhold any payment to the <br /> defendants in the sum of $1 , 346 . 63. On motion of Councilman McCarthy , <br /> seconded by Councilman Pletcher , the City Attorney was authorized to file <br /> notice of appeal unless by consultation with Attorneys Menifee and Kington , <br /> some satisfactory adjustment of the judgment were made. <br /> There was read a letter from the Fraternal Order of Eagles asking that the City <br /> Council approve the finger printing campaign sponsored by this organization. <br /> This was done on motion of Councilman ']. etcher , seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br /> In a letter t ', the Council , Frank Griffin , Director of Physical Education of <br /> Sequoia Union High School , requested permission to erect a bill board on the <br /> school grounds fronting the highway . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , <br /> seconded by Councilman Anderson , the matter was referred to the Mayor and the <br /> City Manager to act as a committee with Mr . Griffin and Mr. Argo to find a <br /> suitable location for such a sign. <br /> C . A. Bonner , Manager of the Aetna Insurance Company , called attention to the <br /> possible hazards in connection with the money in the possession of the City <br /> Collector and the City Treasurer and suggested certain insurance coverages . <br /> It was decided, on motion of Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman <br /> McCarthy , to leave the matter in the hands of the City Manager and City <br /> Treasurer to work oat whatever insurance was considered advisable . <br /> On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Hohn , the City Treasurer <br /> was authorized to pay $10 to the San Mateo County Tuberculosis and Health <br /> Association. <br />
