S o <br /> 1 � ' r; p �:t ��' / </ <br /> 1-1d %-/ / 7 - <br /> Adelaide Butts , 42-A Arch Street , requested the Council to do something about <br /> an unsightly building next to her property at 235 Pennsylvania Avenue. <br /> The rater was referred to the Building Inspector . <br /> On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Anderson , there was <br /> introduced bicycle ordinance . <br /> On motion of Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City <br /> Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution to show cause why the owner <br /> of the property at the corner of El Camino Real and Harrison Avenue should <br /> not repair or take down the building at that location. <br /> The Building Inspector was instructed to check on the nronerty at the corner of <br /> Bradford and Middlefield Road and report at the next meeting. <br /> At the meeting of October 17 , Ordinance No . -1 providing for the issuance of <br /> $97 , 000 of bonds for City Hall and Library construction was formally adopted. <br /> Later , however , it was found that the publication was faulty and had to be <br /> done over again. Following this subsequent publication and filing of the <br /> affidavit indicating it , Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , <br /> proposed the final passage of Ordinance No . 417 providing for the issuance of <br /> the aforesaid bonds . Carried. <br /> On motion of Councilman McCarhty , seconded by Councilman McNulty , the City Treasurer <br /> was authorized to transfer from the Investment Fund to the Real Estate Fund <br /> $5 , 000 and was also authorized to pay the claims of the San Mateo County <br /> Title Company and the California Pacific Title and Trust Company for $1 , 475 <br /> and $950 respectively. <br /> Councilman Jones brought up the question of real estate signs and asked if it would <br /> be advisable to follow this tin . It was explained that most of the realtors <br /> were in favor of disoosing of the signs , but a few did not look with favor <br /> upon it . The Clerk was accordingly asked to write letters to Mrs . Dusel and <br /> Phillip Marlow to ask them to appear before the Council to discuss this subject <br /> in an effort to have 100% participation in the plan. <br /> On motion of CoLncil:inan McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City Manager <br /> was authorized to advertise for bids for furniture and equipment for the new <br /> City Hall , bids to be opened December 27 at 3 P. M . <br /> On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City Manager <br /> was authorized to advertise for bids for furniture and equipment for the new <br /> Public Library , bids to be opened December 27 at 3 P. M. <br /> The Departmental renorts were ordered filed. <br /> On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the approved . claims <br /> were ordered paid. <br /> Adjournment . <br /> City Clerk <br /> • <br /> 1 <br />
