S o 1 � ' r; p �:t ��' / </ 1-1d %-/ / 7 - Adelaide Butts , 42-A Arch Street , requested the Council to do something about an unsightly building next to her property at 235 Pennsylvania Avenue. The rater was referred to the Building Inspector . On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Anderson , there was introduced bicycle ordinance . On motion of Councilman Anderson , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a resolution to show cause why the owner of the property at the corner of El Camino Real and Harrison Avenue should not repair or take down the building at that location. The Building Inspector was instructed to check on the nronerty at the corner of Bradford and Middlefield Road and report at the next meeting. At the meeting of October 17 , Ordinance No . -1 providing for the issuance of $97 , 000 of bonds for City Hall and Library construction was formally adopted. Later , however , it was found that the publication was faulty and had to be done over again. Following this subsequent publication and filing of the affidavit indicating it , Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed the final passage of Ordinance No . 417 providing for the issuance of the aforesaid bonds . Carried. On motion of Councilman McCarhty , seconded by Councilman McNulty , the City Treasurer was authorized to transfer from the Investment Fund to the Real Estate Fund $5 , 000 and was also authorized to pay the claims of the San Mateo County Title Company and the California Pacific Title and Trust Company for $1 , 475 and $950 respectively. Councilman Jones brought up the question of real estate signs and asked if it would be advisable to follow this tin . It was explained that most of the realtors were in favor of disoosing of the signs , but a few did not look with favor upon it . The Clerk was accordingly asked to write letters to Mrs . Dusel and Phillip Marlow to ask them to appear before the Council to discuss this subject in an effort to have 100% participation in the plan. On motion of CoLncil:inan McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City Manager was authorized to advertise for bids for furniture and equipment for the new City Hall , bids to be opened December 27 at 3 P. M . On motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the City Manager was authorized to advertise for bids for furniture and equipment for the new Public Library , bids to be opened December 27 at 3 P. M. The Departmental renorts were ordered filed. On motion of Councilman McNulty , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the approved . claims were ordered paid. Adjournment . City Clerk • 1
